Prerequisite for listing un-scheduled events

Noob question: how many alliance players does it take for a leader to be able to register an un-scheduled event at the website? I'm asking because I've done a few events with 10-15 alliance peeps (like some oRvR led by Lisa/DoctorFixit today), yet these leaders don't log the events. They're just forgetting, or there's a minimum number of alliance members required to do it?

You will need to be the leader of the event and have 4 or more members of the Tuatha involved.

In that case, could Doctorfixit/Lisa please list the oRvR we did today? Same thing with Blocked/Cuefire's two city runs after that. I'd do it myself if I had enough rank :)

You'd need to be the leader to claim it. Claiming something you didn't lead is frowned upon. I'll try to see if I can get Doctorfixit to put in what she did. I have multiple machines so its relatively easy for me. Blocked and DoctorFixIt have to enter them in after the fact as they dont.

Oh no, that was just a joke, I didn't led the events, I'd never dream of claiming them! It's just that I've done quite a few of these 10-15 un-scheduled events, and every time the leaders just don't log them and us lower ranked peeps end up not being able to claim participation.

I've said somewhat similar in an older thread, Arsebeard. I do my best to record un-scheduled victories as fast as I can while I am leading -- going as far as recording BO takes during the ticks, and recording keep takes while I wait for the loot roll (i just keep the site open at my laptop, but I was able to do it with just one computer too). Its somewhat frustrating when you participate in events and... well... they are never recorded by the leaders. I'd never do that to those who follow my WBs.

Yeah, I've noticed that guys like you, Oldroar and Drorodin (just to mention a couple of examples) always log in your events, and that's awesome. I'm not going to stop running with Doctorfixit or Blocked because of this, because they're great leaders and I've always had fun following them (and at the end of the day it's only points, and that's what not a good guild is about), but it would make things a bit more rewarding if they did log in their events.

Yes, I agree with ya, Arse. The main point is the fun of running with the family. They are all great leaders, but maybe I should enforce once more the point that its only fair to reward people that follow you in battle and fight under your commands at the best of their skills. And if I eventually forget to log something... please remind me to do it.

You know, I've been with the guild for a little while now, and Lisa and Blocked are two very fine leaders. I'm sure that if the items were not logged immediately that there was probably a reason. Perhaps something came up and they couldn't get to the website immediately to put them up. I guess I don't understand what the big rush is right now. Lately we seem to have some members who are demanding items be logged right here, right now and honestly, give it a day; if the stuff isn't logged maybe send a tell in game or a private message out of game to remind. The points aren't going to go away just because you weren't able to claim them immediately upon getting the objective. Simply put there can be administrative tasks that go on beyond logging events that cause things to be backlogged - ask Fog or Don about having to give everybody credit for items turned in for contribution points. I sincerely doubt that anybody is trying to screw you out of your earned points. The other thing, and perhaps it's just a language issue and the wrong words were chosen, but knowing Lisa and Blocked, I don't like the insinuation that they may be lesser leaders because they don't log stuff as fast as you or some of the other leaders do.

Hey Siovhan, Blades out, not it. There was no insinuation in my words. I may have choosen the words poorly, but I never meant to say they were lesser leaders. In fact, they are much better and much more experienced leaders than I am. My point is that recording events is an important part of leading, and some leaders tend to overlook or not give due importance to this. Some events NEVER get recorded at all, and this is frustrating. Foghladha is VERY busy, but he always records his events promptly. Maybe he could teach us his tricks. We're all learning here, and we all have a lot to learn. But if we take criticism as an attack, how can we learn from mistakes?

FIrst off the event from the 6th was not event a planned event it was totally unexpected. I had no notes and after 6 hrs of leading had to recreat it to the best of my abilities. Second if I lead till midnight the event will not be posted till the next evening when I get home from work. I got to bed after midnight on those night and have to get up to go to work at 6am. Third if I am leading to go back and forth between the game and the board is impossible. The way I feel about this as of this moment is that I will not lead. Lisa

[The way I feel about this as of this moment is that I will not lead.] I really hope it wasn't my comment that lead you to this decision. Because I have a ton of fun when you're leading, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. And as I already mentioned the points are a minor thing, they're not what Gaiscioch is about. I'm deeply sorry if my comment upset you in any way, my intention was only giving some constructive criticism.

I'm really sorry if it was my comment that made you feel this way, Lisa. My point wasn't to stress people and make them feel bad. My point was stressing THE POINT that recording victories IS important. It doesn't mean you're a bad leader if you can't do it all the times (as it doesn't mean I am a bad leader if I cant win even a BO in a day due to lack of inspiration or something else...). We are not perfect. We do what we can, and we have fun. So recording events is important, and it is as serious as it goes, but "serious" in this case is not something to feel bad or stressed about. Its more like "there are things that are part of being a Tuatha leader, and among them is recording victories.". It should be part of the fun. Record whenever you can, in the way you can, and it will be ok. I will be on your WBs every time you want me to, and I will not bug you about recording points. Just keep in mind I'd be very happy if you do. Blessed Be.
