Ok, so while I was away it seems like always my site went haywire. In addition i'm seeing a lot of new faces. First off I want to say problem fixed for now and precautionary failsafe put in place to help admins resync the db.

To the new family members. Cead Mile Failte! Welcome to the family. I hope that our members have treated you well while I was away. I'm glad to finally be able to sit down and read some of your posts.

So to kick off my return I've changed the Family Tree page. It now has Red showing a requirement has not been met and Orange text to show a set of requirements that neither of the two have been met. The Orange requirements are Either/Or so you only need one of the two to be gold for promotion. This however determines which Tract your going down. The Leadership or Fellowship tract.

Now on to some more serious maters :D. I noticed a lot of members have been starting to have other people enter their objectives into the system for them. Please do not do this. This will give a participant your leadership credit which proceeds them down the wrong tract. The system is built as so:

1. Registration: Shows your commitment to the family by taking the time to register. A member who wont even take the time to sign up will not lift a finger for the family. This keeps our Me, Me, Me, Me, Me'rs out of the family. By registering you gain the rank of Treubh.

2. Participation: To gain the next rank a member must participate in activities. We want to make sure they can and will log into the site to put in the system what they've participated in. If a member will not do this they will not understand how the system works. Once they have 250 points of participation under their belt they can begin leading for the family.

3. Leadership: At Lorgair we allow our members to start their leadership training. Each step of the "Leadership" Training focuses on a different aspect.

The first 10 objectives are designed around a 6 man group. You need to be able to show your ability to lead 6 successfully before you will gain the ability to lead warbands officially on the families behalf. Once You have completed your first stage of training you'll gain access to lead a Warband.

Once you complete 50 objectives with a Warband you'll gain the ability to lead multiple warbands. ONLY in the situation where you lead multiple warbands are "Co-Leads" declared. Co-Leads are the secondary warband leaders only. This is not to be used to give leadership points to your friends or to give points to a warband assistant. The Names you declare must be Active Warband leaders on your behalf.

After 50 objectives leading multiple warbands you can then lead a Eagle or multiple warforce. This is where you start splitting the warbands among different objectives to accomplish the same goal.

Finally after 50 objectives of leading a dual-warforce campaign you can begin using the Griffin which encompasses 5+ warbands attacking multiple targets. This is where you learn to lead an entire war campaign.

The system is designed to start you off small so that each step is accomplished and adds another element. If people start trying to bypass this or jimmyrig it we will have a whole crop of leaders who never lifted a finger for the family other than claiming what their friends have done. We don't want this. We want every member to pull their own. 250 points is not that hard to earn. Use the site to sign up for events, write a blog or two, post in the forum, everything you do with the family counts as participation. Try to get to know the family first before you try to organize an assault. We need you to learn how the family works before you start trying to act on our behalf. I love the enthusiasm but we really want to go about it the right way.

One other question i've seen asked a few times is why the out of game rank doesnt match the in game rank. One of the elders will need to run through the promotions to see who has been promoted recently. I handle most of Anu and I've been out for a few days. I try to hit this up weekly. Just be patient and realize that the Gaiscioch encompasses more than 700 characters. Thats a whole lot of promotions and scrolling through a tedious guild system window. Just hang in there. Most of the perks in the family are web based not in game rank based. So really the rank on the website is what matters.

Please feel free to ask any questions here.

Hey Foghladha, welcome back. First I would like to come out and say that I was one of the people asking fellow members to post the Tier 4 Scenario events I led on the site. The one and only reason for this was to ensure that those participating received the Fellowship points they were due. Events were only ever recorded in the event of victory for Order, and even then only when the correct number of Family members participated (four or more, if I'm not mistaken). I did not post the events myself only because I had not yet achieved Lorgair rank and thus did not have access to the Leadership page. This will no longer be a problem, as I reached Lorgair several days ago (and as of today it is properly reflected on my site permissions--thanks!). I will continue to lead daily Tier 4 Scenario events, but from here on out leadership will be reflected properly here on the site. -Dro P.S. Perhaps some way of allowing members that have not yet reached Lorgair rank to have their leadership properly reflected on the website should be looked into? An "apprentice leadership" page or something to that effect?

Anything prior is all well and good. I just felt we need to make sure to put a halt on this before it got out of hand and we had warlords running around with no experience.

"P.S. Perhaps some way of allowing members that have not yet reached Lorgair rank to have their leadership properly reflected on the website should be looked into? An "apprentice leadership" page or something to that effect?" I would prefer to have members learn to use the Fellowship console before allowing them access to the Leadership console. Baby Steps. I don't want to give new members access to something that could potentially give me one hell of a headache if used incorrectly. By the time they have 250 honor points they've figured out how the system works and that is absolutely critical to being able to properly use the leadership console. You can't make a wheel without first learning to draw a circle. There is reasons why I have things the way they are. Believe it or not it was designed this way for a reason :).

Hail to our leader! =) Welcome back, Foghladha. I'm glad you started this thread to clarify the situation of the caimpaign leadership / participation records. Before anything else, I agree with you. I was taken on the heat of the moment when I so hastily wanted to have our T3 campaign of yesterday recorded. Its a fact that we conquered a lot -- as we fought for 5 hours with very few defeats and a long list of victories -- and I am very proud of my leadership at that moment, despite my lack of prior experience. But I think you are right to enforce the rules. And after all, i must be achieving the Lorgair rank in a few days, and will be able to record all of my campaigns properly. Besides, even when you are not yet at the Lorgair rank, if you really wish to share your experience with the family you can always post a legend in your blog recounting your battles -- like I did in my first leadership experience. I would love to be able to repay with some points the family members that fought so valiantly by my side, but I think that for now a silent "thank you, and at the next time I will be able to record our battles" will have to do. Anyway... I'd really much appreciate your feedback on my writings if you have the time. I'm leading by instinct right now, but the good results show that I must be doing something right. (i'm still very impressed we had almost NO rage quits or bitter criticism on our double WB PuG even after being wiped at PassWatch due to a tactical mistake of mine). Blessed Be.

Hang in the Seabhran. Regarding mistakes, they are the only way we learn in life. Each mistake is a lesson. You can choose to grow from it or choose the wear it like a badge of honor. We all make them but only the best can learn from them. The winner takes away the spoils of war while the loser takes away the knowledge of his defeat. Find what broke and work toward fixing it. Eventually you'll perfect the formula and you'll be unstoppable. Be well and I look forward to working with you.

Thank you for the advice, Foghladha. I may have given the wrong impression on how I feel about my mistakes. I must say that I pretty much value the many mistakes I make as a great way to improve myself and my actions -- I'm the kind of you-only-really-learn-when-you-try kind of guy, and that's exactly what happened in my leading experiences. At the first one, I lost control of the situation (and of the WB) twice. At the second time, I not only managed (with a big help from many people) to keep control even in the stressful situations of defeat, but was able to make a PuG WB push maneuvers I wouldn't believe possible, like hitting and running without engaging and hiding in the bushes without attacking just to make the enemy wonder where we were. I'm pretty glad to have feedback on my leadership, as I know I always have a lot to learn, but on the other hand I'm starting to get a feeling I am getting the hang of it, and discovering my leadership and tactical style. And I will tell you, I had a GREAT time yesterday -- partly because I knew everyone else was having a great time too. And I would like to thank the family for the help, and for making me feel confident enough I could do it. Besides, I've read all the text on leadership I cold find here, and I've learned a lot from it. Every single advice you gave me on your posts where very useful. Blessed Be.
