Got me 14 times. I'll say it must be 7 for my account and 7 for the wife's. According to the herald, sounds like they should be crediting back all the extra charges within the next 24-36 hours.
Apparently this issue isn't limited to WAR!... One of our guildies got billed 19 times for his DAoC account :(
16 times for my WAR account. Dammit! And my billing date isnt even until the 24th of the month! Contemplating my future with this game at the moment. I'm pretty pissed off at the moment. I guess it will depend on how soon this resolves itself.
For those that have been hit. http://herald.warhammeronline.com/warherald/NewsArticle.war?id=1072
x18 for me. Damn. Gonna be a mess to get this fixed.
Am I seeing that Mythic should be fixing this problem for everyone who had it in the next day or two without me contacting them, or should I go ahead and call them up?

My sub is up on the 12th so I am premptivly striking and will cancel my SUB. Dawn Eternal will probably be losing memebers over this issue as I am sure many other guilds through out the game will be as well. Fogy I know you have been bearing some brunt of the backlash over at the offical Forums, but if you have anyones ear tell them they MUST say more than what they have the information is too little for the severity of this situation! We need to know if the vendor has gotten its mess sorted out until then my SUB like many others is done until we get notice that all is well. Grumble and mutters...Beetles
Yes, its still happening. I was charged 7 times this morning. What is odd though is that according to posts on the Offical Forums, unsubbed people are also being effected. True or not? IDK...but its something to consider.
I'm going with true on that, Viktre. It looks like people are being charged even if their accounts are cancelled or their billing date has not yet arrived.
As for me? I can't pay my rent. I can't pay my utility bill. I can't pay for gas to get to work. I can't pay my student loan payment. I can't pay my cable bill. I can't even pay to eat right now. If this isn't resolved in the next 10 hours or so, I'm going to be in a very tight spot.
I'm also very nervous because a post by James (or maybe it was Andy) stated that emails were sent to all accounts affected by the billing error. I have yet to recieve an email.

i was hit 9x so far 4 have been refunded so they are working on it. and i think ben was hit like 20x and mystri was hit hard like for 1k in charges.
Block, should I call Mythic up and talk to them about getting it fixed? Or are they taking care of it automatically?
It'st supposed to be taken care automatically. I didnt get hit with at so far. I keep checking my accounts to be safe. Also people with DAOC accounts have gotten hit as well so I imagine it is taking some time to get all those e-mails out.
Are any of you running a multi month SUB? I run with a 3 month SUB rate and kinda hoping beyond hope to be spared but I fear no matter what I do I am gonna get screwed. It wont take many extra sub fees kicking in to really hurt me at $50 a pop...
I just got charged for the 19th time.
GOT HIT 6 TIMES
make that 10 times

Looks like I am safe so far... Thank Sigmar for my high Block Rating.
Ack! Sixteen times so far in the course of two different days. I am so glad it is on my credit card and not my debit card.

I've been hit 15 times... Ugh...
Dumb... They need to turn off their auto-billing until they get their software fixed. They would be better off delaying their billing a couple days, rather than have to devote all that manpower to fixing the mess later...
Just checked again today and I got hit 21 times.. backcharged. Unbelievable, lol.
I spoke to my bank and they are going to get this resolved. I also have been assured if overcharges result in overdrafts your bank will reverse those fees as well... spoke to the fraud investigative branch of my bank. Should all be fixed for all.
So far I've been fortunate. Only charged 10 times for 1 month fees, and in my financial situation I can afford to be without the money for however long it takes Mythic to fix the issue. I've also recieved both E-mails from mythic explaining things and cofirming that they are aware of the issue and confirming that the charges have been reversed. Since it's already Saturday morning where I am, it'll likely be a few days yet before I expect to see any results or need to concern myself with further action. I really have to wonder what this will mean for the future of the game. This has the potential to really cripple it worse than any in-game flaw ever could.
22x for $1.1k my 180 day billing cycle wasn't even up yet. According to Mythic the billing company has refunded the charges and things should be cleared up in a few days.
I hope everyone in the Families able to get through it without too much trouble. :|
EDIT: To verify, yes unfortunately canceled subscriptions are also being hit. I had created an account to start up my guild on all the servers and canceled it around 2 months ago - 13 charges to it this morning.

I've yet to receive any email about this, though I'm clearly affected. And I've been away from the house too much today to get anything done over the phone. Should be a fun weekend.
I got hit 18 times. I have not looked to see if it been payed back yet.
I got hit 55 times (4 accounts), I'm going to give them until Tue to reverse charges before contacting them. They stated that everything has been reversed but due to the delay at some banks it may take up to 3 days.

Right now I think the important thing is not to panic. They are working on this issue and cancel or not the issue isnt going anywhere. It's already happened. The reason we got charged on the 8th and the 9th is because the error happened near the close of business on the 8th. Half of the transactions did not process until the 9th. It was all 1 batch. This was not 2 separate errors. This has happened to all of us before im sure at the gas station, supermarket, fast food joints. Typically its not so severe as this, but accounting errors happen every day. The trick is are you going to react out of panic or still your storm and see clearly. This isn't going to happen every month. And while yes this was a Huge inconvenience for all of us Mythic was quick to get the charges rolled back. Right now it seems those who used bank accounts for payment have been credited while credit card companies are still processing the order. Having a weekend staring at us in the face is mostly just unfortunate timing. Now we would all be fools if we didn't know EA/Mythic was going to mount a serious assault against the person or company who caused this. Say 25% of their subscribers left because of this and their paid membership was around 100,000 accounts (Pretty sad if its this small). Thats a monthly loss of 373,750$. Then factor in the cost of the net connection, building lease, employees involved, and the rest of the company expenses and you just cut their profit margins by 25% or more. All because of 1 messup. Oh there will be blood. Someone is going to get some serious repercussion because of this. This is the reason why I don't build eCommerce sites ;P. Anyways I must be off but I do ask that you wait until the panic phase is over before you make your decisions. This type of error can happen any time any where online or at the supermarket. I dont think running away from something you enjoy doing is the solution. Ben
I agree with you Ben that there is a lot of overhype going on. Too many photoshop'd images on the forums helping to produce even more panic. (Ferris Bueller name reference inserted here) Personally it's why I run all my internet/online accounts thru credit card or shadow lenders (i.e. PayPal as a cheap reference) One thing that has me concerned though and maybe with your connections you can help bring some clarity. There seems to be a sudden increase in the number of hacked accounts, namely Iron Rock and Volkmar, but now some are showing up on Badlands. How concerned should we be about this? 1) I know it may be coincidence but the timing of both hacks and billing errors are really close. 2) I find it hard to beleive that the number of people reporting hacks are all the result of sharing login info or keylogger, though I'm sure that some of that has taken place in the past. Maybe you could encourage someone to post something more proactive than the needed reactionary responses we've seen from Mythic.
I agree and I'm not going anywhere. My accounts were tied to my bank account so I'm temporarily out of pocket on some funds but I'm confident that it will be taken care of early next week. I don't blame Mythic/EA for this mishap as the error was the fault of their third party billing vendor. Unfortunately, there will be some impact with players leaving or canceling accounts due to this issue and the over-hype. There will be lots of angry customers due to bank overdrafts and charges as a result. Some banks will likely adjust those fees but others may not causing misplaced blame and feelings of remorse against Mythic. I think our best position is to support Mythic as much as possible in the forums and help the player community to realize who was really to blame here and not to over-react.
Remember falon that if you do incure overdraft fees or any other fees caused by there screw up, you need to contct mythic ,, they have posted information on there web site as to how to do this
I blame the New guy, in the Mail room, with the Envolope. A little light hummer there, i was hit 9 times, thank god i had the funds at the time. I have already seen redeposits to my account. So I say stay the course, things will clear for the better.
Let's face it, things pretty much MUST clear for the better. Put ourselves in Mythic's shoes. This is a complete disaster for them. There's simply no way Mythic won't be moving heaven and earth to put things right again - they simply can't afford not to. Every customer that is left out of pocket in the end likely won't be coming back (many will probably leave anyway, even if they do get fully refunded), and with only 4 US servers left, that's a really bad position to be in. This is Mythic's worst nightmare (especially right before they were about to hopefully turn things around with the new city siege and Korean launch). Mythic will put things right. They can't afford not to. It will just take time.
well i just found out why i didnt get hit .. got a email from mythic saying my account has been closed do to the credit card i had used last fall had expired lol ,, forgot that i had gotten a new credit card last month and had not updated my mythic account till just now, which is after the problem they had last week lol
I got hit 18 times. Hopefully they will have this cleaned up by the end of the day and be helping those who got hit with bank charges. Mythic probably lose a lot of people because of this mess.
16 times, the fees are still their. I contacted EA who made a ticket on my behalf to contact my bank and fix the charges, honestly even if you didn't get the overdraft fees still call. Mythic made a big mistake and they realize this just wait and see how they apologize, we better get something at least a free month is in order here.
Happy to report Mythic have refunded all their excess charges to my account. No phonecalls or prompting needed. A stronger Aussie Dollar even resulted in Mythic paying back more than they originally charged me. All told, I'm out about $3 worth of transaction fees which really aren't worth the effort of chasing up with the bank. Pretty much as good a resolution as I could hope for.
