Now that you have a general overview of our family we will try to answer some of your lingering questions. Please feel free to read over as much or as little of the wall of text below.

Who Are We?
The Gaiscíoch Family began in as a social gaming community on the industry pioneering MMORPG Dark Age of Camelot. Our debut was on the Nimue server on August 10th, 2002, with a focus on creating a light to moderate role-play environment for players of all levels. With our roots firmly attached in the Celtic Mythological Cycle time period, the Gaiscíoch hold honor, respect, integrity, and fellowship, over hierarchy and dictatorship. Today the Gaiscíoch family spans many games, sports, and social circles. It is through gaming, athletic competition, and social interaction that we forge new friendships and relationships.

What is a Gaiscioch?
To find the meaning of this word "Gaiscíoch" you must travel back to ancient Ireland. Roughly 1000-1200 B.C. Ireland was occupied by 3 tribes, The Milesius who were descendants from Spain, The Firbolg which were sea rovers from Africa, and the Tuatha De Dannan who's origin is still unknown. The Milesius came to Ireland to find a very civilized society known as the Tuatha De Dannan or People of Anu. Now some of the speculation around them these days may suggest that the Tuatha were actually better known as Atlantians. Recent studies show that the mysterious Atlantis that sank into the ocean was actually Ireland after a huge tidal wave submerged the island under water destroying the entire civilization. By the Milasius and the Firbolg they were thought of as Gods.

The Firbolg were very proud people and decided that they would challenge the Tuatha to a Battle. One like this world has never seen. Each side chose 300 of their best warriors to fight in this battle. Each side shared their technology, techniques, and weaponry with the other and the 2 sides had a feast together the night before the battle. The warriors that were chosen to fight for the Tuatha were called Gaiscíoch; or more literally Divine Warrior. When the horns blew and the 600 warriors clashed and when the battle was over the only that remain standing were the Gaiscíoch. They had defeated the Firbolg. Now oddly enough after the battle the 2 clans embraced each other like brothers and joined together as one nation. It wasn't until the Milesius attack that the Tuatha would ever fall.

What is a Trinity Raid?
We are most well known for our Trinity Raids which have been run since the launch of Warhammer Online. The Trinity Raid is a Multi-Warband Public Warforce which aims to help teach players the in's and outs of open realm combat while providing them with the experience of large scale combat in multiple tiers. In addition each week they provide players a chance to gain the valuable gear they need as well as the renown and experience to use it. Trinity Raids are always open to all members of our realm and we aim to work with or around any pre-existing war parties in the warzone.

Are The Gaiscioch In An Alliance?
Shortly after we were formed we began the Treubh Alliance or "The Family" as we call it. The Family has grown to include: Armyn ab Treanid, Bretonnian Emissaries, Du Mintai, Gaiscioch, Gaiscioch na Anu, Iron Legion, Loremasters, Sanctus Immortalis, Shadows Deep, and Symphony of Death. In addition to the family we have our extended family the "Tuatha". This extended family aims and growing past the limits of the 10 Guild limit that is placed on alliances within Warhammer Online and currently includes and additional 9 Families which are: Angels of Retribution, Dawgs of War, Defiance, Knights of Steele, Order Victorious, Ordo Cartusiensis, Roisin Dubh, Tormentors, and White Tower of Hoeth. All 19 families of the Treubh and Tuatha have the full functionality and benefit of being part of the Gaiscioch family. We actively seek out new members for our Tuatha and hope that over the coming months we can introduce even more families to it.

Why Should I Join?
Becoming a Gaiscioch is not a decision you should make without thought. The Gaiscioch Family is not for everyone. Some prefer to see the same faces all day every day and that is not the case with us. Each of our members is a casual gamer in nature and sometimes we disappear for days or weeks at a time. It is one of the reasons we are so large and still continue to grow. We do not tell people when to play or how to play. We simply encourage them to enjoy themselves while they do play and give them the means to play around their schedules. If you prefer this kind of non-invasive lifestyle that comes with being a Gaiscioch then you may enjoy our family. Our family is very active in the oRvR side of the game with occasional expeditions into the land of the dead and dungeons. We have Ventrilo available for chat all day and usually there are people on there at all times. We have a phenomenal website that helps bring people together and keep players in the know about upcoming events and the latest discussions. You will also gain a war profile which you will be able to track your participation with the family and earn special gear from our family vault. The more you participate the more gear you will earn. The list of benefits goes on and on and before anyone decides one way or another I strongly encourage they visit the website to learn more about our Family.

What if the Gaiscioch Arn't Right For Me?
I encourage you to contact me as Daghdre, Dannan, or Danann and I can better help you find a family that best suits your need. The Gaiscioch are not about personal gain or quota's, we are about helping people have as much fun while playing Warhammer Online as possible. If this means helping you find a better fit to your playing style then we are more than happy to help you on your way. It is only in your enjoyment in this game that it will have continued success and through it's success we all grow stronger as a community.

How Do I Join?
So you've decided to give us a try. Slainte my kinsmen. All you need to do to join the family is contact one of our recruiters mentioned above and they can walk you through the in's and out's of the family. There is no lengthy application, background checks, or wait lists. Your desire to be a part of the family is your application in itself. We welcome you to the family and hope to see you make us your new home on Phoenix Throne.

I think that just about covers the most asked questions. If you have any additional questions do not hesitate to send me a private message, reply to this post, or send me a tell in game as Daghdre, Dannan, or Danann. I look forward to meeting all of you.

Might want to add, probably in the "Why Should I Join?" section, that we tend to lean towards orvr rather than pve.
