Firstly I must say that the past 8 months with you guys playing Warhammer has been a blast. We've had many faces come and go, but every person who has walked through our doors has held a place in our history. We find ourselves at a door, with everything we've done in the past behind us and an unknown future on the other side. It is up to us to decide what we would like to become.

The Warhammer Issue:
Over the past months, the game has become more and more broken, with very little change towards the positive. I first noticed it when people would love the game be excited to play while in tiers 2 and 3 yet as soon as they hit Tier 4 they quickly lost interest and began to quit. Even when we had mostly tier 4 raids going players would lose interest and quit. Over the past 3 weeks I have received several emails, both from the members of the Gaiscioch and other members of our alliance letting me know that they closed their accounts. All of these people will be greatly missed. The impact of this exodus was hard to miss last Sunday during our scheduled tier 3 raid. Only 6 members of the alliance were signed on, and only 4 were able to raid. When doing a /who 21 - 31 only 26 people were found. The server as a whole is decreasing in population and times will be hard moving forward.

So Today I find myself at a crossroads. I personally love raiding the warfront on Warhammer. It's the highlight of my week and the thing I look forward to every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. However, as we move forward, I can only lead troops if their are troops to lead. I have never been "The Gaiscioch Trinity", you guys have been the trinity, im just your PR agent who manages to get people to come to the party. The real show are all of the people that make it happen. It is because of you that this game is fun. So what I want to ask you all today is:

What do you want to do?

I am only as good as the people who stand by my side. The Gaiscioch are only as powerful as the people who wear the name proudly. If you guys want to play other games which games do you want to play. If you want to wait out warhammer and see it through to the end let me know. Because I personally don't mind doing that. The only qualm i have with Warhammer is their betrayal to its fans. Many are feeling burned with the announcement of a Live event over the announcement of the T4 patch. People feel that Mythic doesn't care and that throwing shinnys in front of us will keep us interested. I can see that and know how it must make you all feel. I have always said that if your not having fun then don't do it. If you guys have lost interest in warhammer, thats ok. Just let me know where you guys need me and I'll be there. The Gaiscioch will live on, move to bigger and better things. I just need some direction.

The Aion Expansion:
As many have seen, there is a large interest in Aion. Even my new wife Juliana plans of moving to Aion. I plan to help open the family there with the assistance of Ainwe, Juliana, and Pulitzer. Once the family is formed I will be focusing on warhammer until the Tier 4 patch is launched. If warhammer redeems itself I will be forming up some massive assaults on those new keeps. If it flops, then I likely will help those that want to join the Aion family over into the Aion side of the family. Read the Aion Online Forum Post for more information.

Those that do not like Aion:
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, tell me what you do like, where are you going? I would rather you just be honest with me than just walk out the door without ever letting us know where your going. I'm sure not everyone will like Aion, there is possibility that I can form up the Gaiscioch in other places so we can continue our legacy into more realms. Just let me know what your eying, hey I might even join you :D.

Other Gaiscioch Branches:

Runes of Magic:
We are currently formed up on Runes of Magic on the Grimdal (PvP). This is a free-2-play game that has very low required pay-for-goods to enjoyment factor. Even if you don't spend a dime you will still have fun playing this game. You can actually buy Diamonds either for 4.99 per hundred, or for 24,000 for 1 in game gold which isn't that hard to come by. PvP is pretty open, but you have to complete a quest to become open game. Those that don't want to pvp can just not complete the quest. Here is a Runes of Magic Forum Post on our forums talking more about this. If you want in the family on Runes let me know and either me, Moredan, Donaliam, or Flamberge can get you into the family.

The Gaiscioch Jr. On FreeRealms
For those kids at heart there is FreeRealms. We currently have the family formed over there so that we can play with the Wee ones. Damihdez or I can invite you to the family if you would like to get in with you or your little ones. FreeRealms is a Free-2-Play family oriented multi-genre game which includes puzzles, rpg, chess, kart racing, demolition derby, questing, crafting, and much more to come. We have an official FreeRealms topic on our forums.

With that I would like it very much if you can let me know what you guys want to play and where would you like to go. For now I will be remaining in Warhammer full time until the release of the Tier 4 patch. I will be keeping an eye on the Aion expansion pioneers through Juliana's account and making sure they have the same website support we have all grown to love. REGARDLESS. Be sure to update your Ventrilo information with our NEW OFFICIAL VENTRILO SERVER (Login Required to View). The Gaiscioch Family will survive this and we will grow stronger because of it. Have no fear. For those that are sticking it out with me on Warhammer, what tiers do you guys want to Raid? If we want to get some new people I suggest T2 and T3. Don't know how many Tier 4 players are sticking it out :\. Let me know what you want to do and I'll schedule it that way.

I will play both war and aion for the time being. Will keep doing it as long as I time enough free time and interest in both. Since the raids start pretty late to me it's always something I can do for one or two hours before going to bed. So, yeah... I will stick around for a few months more. By the way... talking about future games: GUILD WARS 2. That is the one I'm looking forward. Guild Wars that is actually an MMO, what else one can ask? I have no interest in sci-fi / star wars / star trek / comic heroes mmos tough. ;) And I'm so gonna resub DAoC if they launch Origins server. \o/

I would join you guys again on Warhammer if I were able to 1. Successfully install it and 2. Rescue Twilah from inside the Tavern. Every time I tried to log her in the game would hang about 60 seconds and then go back to character selection. I sure hope you guys weren't seeing me log in and out (about two months ago). I'm just playing Sims 3 between beta weekends right now. When you announce a site for Aion I will migrate to it :D I'm partial to the Elyos, but even more partial to playing with good people.

Speaking for Keggan and Me. We are staying with war, If it falls thru the cracks of the world, there is DAoC. That was our first MMO and we have roots there. So with all that is said about other games I am here to stay.

I love WAR, more than Aion. So I'm going to play it until to the point that the guild can't even form a "B team" anymore, or if my financial status change. As for my future plans, I'm going to Aion. I didn't want to at first but I had a change of heart and mind. But, as a comic book nerd, I'm planning to jump in and play Champions Online too. I'm trying to resist and not play the game but I think I'm failing. I know you guys won't play this though. I also had my eye on Dungeons & Dragons Online: Unlimited (which will go live this Thursday - August 6). I've been playing the closed beta for weeks now and I've been enjoying it since. The game features a pretty decent story, and the D&D rules have been interpreted well in real-time. Plus, it's free to play. The game doesn't call for a big guild, however. But it'd be awesome if can party up with you guys and do some dungeon hopping.

Well, crap. I know all of you don't know me (because I just got invited), but I'm really disappointed that this guild seems to be making Aion a priority. Not only that, but also that Warhammer is dying. I'm a Warhammer and WH40k lore buff and I couldn't wait to play this game when I heard about it while serving in Iraq. My original server (Skull Throne) got nixed due to population issues, and my new server (Badlands) was fun, but I got sick of playing Chaos. Interested in Order and the RP-ness of Phoenix Throne, I rolled a Knight and set off all by my lonesome. By virtue of chance I came across this guild and had a polite chat with Daghdre, who brought me into the fold. Since, I've been completely dumbfounded at the work put into this website and the culture surrounding it. A bit intimidating too, but I figured I'd learn my way about soon. It's disheartening to write that I don't think I can switch to Aion. I'm not that into anime/eastern style graphics, preferring the grit and violence of WAR. I guess I'll stay with the die-hard guildmates on WAR, and hope that Mythic fixes things. It's frustrating trying to find that "perfect game" isn't it?

Ulderijk, Welcome to the Family!! I can honestly say that Gaiscioch is the best guild I have been in during my 9 years of MMOs. And I agree with you, this website is insanely awesome. I was thunderstruck when I first saw it, but hey, that's what we get having a Webprogrammer as a Guild leader! I look forward to playing with everyone in warhammer over the next two months, and though I'll be in Aion more than WAR after it releases, I am keeping my WAR account for a good, long time. War's Pvp is just too good! <3

Ulderijk, Im sorry you had to join us right at this rough patch. Do know that things will work out. I personally like Warhammer's oRvR a lot more than anything else out there other than DAOC. If it wasn't for the "Grind" i'd still be playing in DAOC. My wife loves to customize characters hence her natural affliction to Aion. Your able to customize everything in there which is insane. You can be short or fat or look like kevin sorbo. You dream it you can be it. That kind of creativity and freedom is awesome however. Im more of a lets see what kind of bind i can get us into today so i can figure out how to get us out kind of guy. Aion makes you wait for 20 levels before you can even go up against something thats more that an ai system. Computers are only as smart as people make them. Now if Google made an MMO that would be some nice AI ;D. But its the human factor i crave. I want to know my opponent is bigger, meaner, and badder than i am. I want to feel the pressure as their slamming into us. I want to rise up from the ashes and slaughter our foes so that they fear our name. I want to take over the WORLD! oh wait ok maybe that was a little weird. LOL. Actually I'm here because you guys are here. I play because you guys play. The only reason I'm still playing today is because all of you have been by my side. And that is the True Gaiscioch Family feeling I hope all of you share. It's nice being a part of something that is so wonderful. Even if we all break off into other games while we wait for the next "Epic-MMO". So be it. Doesn't mean we can't still chat and play together. Do join up on the vent server. Even if its just to listen. We love hearing from you all.

Fogladha, that's OK. I'm glad that I'm in, despite the bad timing. I would like to emphasize a comment made earlier - the content offered on this website has extended past the game, making WAR even more enjoyable. The work put into it was not a waste, and I'm sure can be used as a base skeleton for future "epic-MMOs". Heck, you could probably sell it as a package for other guilds, making tons of loot. I'm looking forward to my future with the Family (capice?), no matter how much I butcher its name (guy socks nanoo) or its ranking structure (I think I might have said Crabhadh correctly when I sneezed).

I'll be seeing -you- in the new Legion of the family. :P I'm playing less due to work and summer sunshine, but I will be there for events and such. AND-- I'm in Vent all day while working. So usually any time of the day you can find family members in vent. See the Vent info on the Member's only tab at the top right of the site. <3 Pomona, you should hang out in Vent too while working. I will be sticking with WAR til the end, although I have not been able to devote as much time to it lately. Right now, the kids are very, VERY into Free Realms, so that is what I have been playing mostly. Foghladha, thanks again for introducing us to it, it has been hours of entertainment for the youngins (Seth in particular wanted me to convey his appreciation to you). Once school lets back in, I may be on WAR more; it kinds of depends on the kids homework situation. I also have a few characters on Runes of Magic, but haven't played them very much. The game is fun, but right now I'm more interested in WAR and Free Realms. Aion does not look very appealing to me, so I think I'll skip that one. Champions does look very appealing to me, however. I am going to try to get into the Beta for it to check it out. If I can't get in, I will probably buy it and give it a test run for at least a month. I was a big fan of the concept of COH/COV (and it did hold my attention longer than any game except WAR), but the implementation left something to be desired. I'm hoping Champions can better address my roots as a comic book geek.

It appears that there is still some interest shown in WAR from guildmates, which gives me some hope. If the main focus of this guild is eventually shifted from WAR, we might want to establish a more concrete list of who will be devoting a majority of their time *where*. There's a potential for this guild's WAR presence to become an empty shell without spending the time needed to cultivate a secondary leadership framework before "jumping ship". I suppose it is what we make of it.

I have 5 days left on my sub and am probably not going to get another time card. I haven't really been active in the game for a while. The biggest draw was the Lore and the gameplay, it was an interesting take on everything. The PvE areas seemed to be more of a solo affair, it was rare to ever actually see groups that you didn't have to pull together yourself just roaming the wastes. This was a bit of a downer, that combined with the lack of crafting to get the wife interested left a bit of a hole in the heart of the game. That and a few interesting console games has sucked me away. [-cough- saw Fog an Don on Too Human] [Montelav = gamertag || Montivagus = PSN] The next MMO that I will be paying for is going to be FFXIV, if they fixed some of the time sinks it just might end up being my wife's killer-MMO and that makes us both happy. Dungeons and Dragons Online [new free edition] is going to be reinstalled on my machine and Runes of Magic will be dusted off. I will be giving both of those a try again, I was with RoM when it launched until I picked up WAR, if there is a family presence there I might as well give it a shot again. As for DDO, it was fun when I tried the trial, just the community was a little speed-level/noob-hatin' at the time. Left a somewhat sour taste, I WANT to have experienced the storyline, I want to experience every facet of the build-up to the end. I got into gaming not to prove that I could outthink/outstat a LQAI, I got into it as an extension of some rabid book reading. If the story is good I will play through to the end, if the gameplay wins at that point and hasn't killed interest prior then I stick with the game. For WAR the story was interesting from a Lore standpoint, the quests just started to feel a bit like dailies instead of stories. [/rant] Aion = not so much, though maybe for a month or so.

Was even able to join up for some T4 last night, although I had to cut out earlier than expected. Just got to get vent installed again and I'm ready to go! I wouldn't mind trying Aion, but not sure my poor little rig could even run it.

Not trying to say Aions better Izynn but rig wise. If you can run warhammer aion will fly. The Minumum specs are less than the ones warhammer requires. I can run Aion on my laptop and Warhammer is frame by frame animation. It uses the crytek engine which you may recognize from the far cry series. Overall frame rates are pretty high. Lowest ive seen was 25fhp on my laptop opening day.

Oh so that's why Aion is so smooth on my computer. Weird considering with War everything is on the low setting and no spell effects, but Aion the graphics and effects are on high and it's smoooooth as silk. lol after the beta weekend when I logged back into War, I -really- noticed the choppiness.

Guild Wars was the same way. The problem with warhammer most likely is how many Errors your game application gets. Each error slows down the frame rate. I'm with how many bugs Warhammer has i would not second guess that the client is spitting out a crapton of errors. I did stumble upon a very interesting article: Casualty of Warhammer Which talks from a developers perspective of what happened when EA ate Mythic. It looks like they went through at least 3 rounds of layoffs. From having a whole building floor for QA to a little room. As a programmer I know the headache of trying to figure out someone elses code. When they lay people off a new person has to pick up the broken code and try to find that needle in a haystack. This article defiantly makes you realize that the crew which still works on Warhammer is but a tiny fraction of what it originally was. Quite a sad tale indeed.

It was the economy the greatly wounded Warhammer. I bet if the layoffs were not needed, the game would have great. I think it still can be, just have to give it time.

Thanks Foghladha, I'll have to check out Aion a little closer. Like I said though, I don't plan on leaving the game any time soon!

I will stay with War, Aion was ok.. Didn't think it was worth all of the hype it got. Dynamix loved the flight sims they did. They put out some great games.. Was sad to see them fade away. How many hear heard of TSN and Red Barron online (well kinda, had to play RB on TSN) That was a blast.

I pretty much hit a brick wall when it came to T4. I just don't have the fun that I did in the previous tiers. That along with the changes and upcoming changes for my Archmage I just find it really hard to log in and play and have the fun I used to. I'll be keeping tabs on WAR and hoping that it comes out of it's current slump. I really do want to love this game. Enough so that I have been playing since release, but I've just been drifting for the past few weeks and I don't feel the excitement I used to. I will be giving Aion a try when it releases. Hopefully it will be what I'm looking for in an MMO. Like I said I'll be poking my head in and out of WAR to see how it's progressing but I don't see me playing it in any substantial amount in the near future.

I am not sure that I will stick with WAR or not, there needs to be alot of changes when it comes to tier 4, it just takes way too much time to lock a zone, and I am an impatient person. I don't care to return to tiers 1 through 3, have already done that on a couple of servers and it is no longer fun to me. I have been playing ROM and now DDO. I like DDO better out of the two games. I also, like the fact that I dont have to spend hours upon hours to make character progress, I just dont have the time to sit in front of the computer all night anymore. I have not even looked at Aion, I might take a quick gander at it, but doubt I will play, but you never know. I enjoy talking with all of you on vent, that has been more fun than the actual gaming experience, and it is always good to give Blockhead a bad time 8P

The problem with WAR is the problem with most MMORPG's now, and I doubt Aion will be much different. The first few MMORPG's were (and in some cases still are) living worlds. Even DAoC felt like a home, where my character lived out an actual life. I had a home, I had a tradeskill, and I had a duty to the realm. UO and EQ were more or less the same (though EQ didn't really have the "home" part, but I still had a few cities that I treated as a home). But MMO's these days shun all of that in favor of constant action, the idea that every single player wants to log on and spend every second of his experience doing stuff, all day long, all the time, without rest. Sorry, but that's not what an MMORPG is about. That's what an FPS is about. MMORPG's are, at their core, social games. You'll grab the short attention span crowd with your new shiny bits, sure... but then Wrath of the Lich King comes out, or Aion, or ANY other game, and those guys leave. The ones that stick around are the ones that want to form friendships and relationships, and have a virtual home. Warhammer is missing most of what it needs to become such a virtual home. It doesn't have places where you can just hang out... even Altdorf and the Inevitable City are dangerous until you're decently high level. Tradeskills? Kinda... but nothing you can really take pride in, really. You can't make suits of awesomeness, with your maker's mark and stuff. Of the MMORPG's I've played, DAoC had one of my least favorite tradeskill systems and even THAT was better than WAR. And duty to the realm? Only for high levels. T4 is the only part of the game that actually makes a difference in the realm war, which leaves a lot of lower tiers saying "Meh, why defend it? We'll just take it back when they leave." Like SWG, the concepts are great, but the implementation is lacking. The game tries to be what WoW should have been (and promised to be at the start) but fails because WoW has about 100 square virtual miles of extra content on Warhammer, more mature systems, and a gigantic player base that can support the huge development staff they need to keep things going (and they STILL can't get a patch done on time... morons). WAR should have avoided WoW altogether. They should've spent another year making the game systems more mature, making them less instant gratification oriented, and making the environment (on both sides, not just order) more casual gamer friendly. They should've made the chapter camps into actual towns, developed more tradeskills, and then found ways to tie those into the Realm vs. Realm system. But what they should've done won't help them now. Now they have to do the best with what they have which, due to layoffs, isn't that much anymore. Maybe we'll get lucky and EA will let Mythic go, game and all, and we can get a developer back that enjoys making games that happen to make money, rather than making money and occasionally pooping out a decent game by accident.

I still wonder why it is that in the early times we had Epic MMO's. Meridian 59, Ultima Online, Everquest, Dark Age of Camelot, Lineage, and then WoW. All of these lasted for nearly decades before they began seeing decline. This new generation we have a handfull of half ass mmo's. Anarchy Online, Tabula Rasa, Hellgate London, Warhammer, Age of Conan, Archlord, Saga of Ryzom, Horizons, Mythos (Which rocked but got sidelined between it's time) and the list goes on and on of epic fail after epic fail. Like quick little flash fires. All of these fell appart within the first 8 months of launch. Some managed to recover after extensive rebuilds but most still linger in the bottom of the population scale. It's like the new generation overlook what it is that us players love the most. Eirynn I think you said it perfectly. There's now Home in MMO anymore. You don't feel like a character in a bigger picture. Hell in warhammer you cant even sit or hug someone. I'm really hoping that the MMO developers start looking at the beginning and figuring out what it was about those early MMO's that still today keep players attention. I wish I had the opportunity to help develop a game. I'm pretty sure the idea I've had in my head would be epic. It would just take the right group of people to implement.

Dag, its simple... Kids rush to lvl cap, kids farm the crap out of everything, kids get bored. NEXT! rinse and repeat. Its the old fart like us (now you married so that makes you extra old :P) are the ones that truly enjoy the non-rush, play the game as it goes way. Havent we seen kids w 8 Alts, high lvl, epic gears on... while the rest of us, I wouldnt say struggle.. but are not as quick to level, farm are left behind the Zergs of children/farmers. It has become a race to lvl cap, race to who can have the most purplz gear, who has the epic weapon of WTFPWNing, hours and hours of endless dungeon runs. Personally I could never do a 8+ hour dungeon run in WoW, that was insane!!! DAOC wasnt too bad cos their pvp was simply awesome (at least back in the day when I played it). War... well... the classes have become so imbalanced, and ridiculously OP that just isnt fun, specially with all their server mergers it screwed up alot. Again this is just MY opinion. But one of the biggest screw ups in War... LACK OF EMOTES!!!! and chocolate!... yeah.../drool...chocolate...ehem /cough, sorry, where were we :P Back to my point, the young masses join the new game, rush the game, get bored, move on. They never get into the storyline, into character hence killing the game for themselves and population for us. Cheers, Edana

I agree with Edana completely. I was bummed with War's lack of emotes/hugs. And the kids do exactly what you say, too. They rush rush rush, and I can't ever figure out how they get 8 characters to max lvl with epics. I can usually only focus on one and maybe two baby alts (Never get high lvl). Back when I played EQ, I played it for years and never did get to lvl cap... Only got to 52, hehe. But you did feel like you were a part of something (But damn EQ WAS grindy. I quit after farming the same spot for a month straight). It did have the social aspect where you ended up chatting for hours completely neglecting the gameplay. WoW had a good social aspect, I just grew tired of that game and it's never ending quest to get the lastest purple epics via expansions. Like Edana, I never did the big long WoW dungeon raids. Running the same instance for months waiting for 'the item' drop and then if it DID drop you had to fight with others of the same class for it... Ewww. (That's where I love WAR's Loot baggie system <3) I am still looking for the game that was like my first experience, but I don't think we'll find it again. Being 28, I remember when the internet came out, and when we used to just hang out in chat rooms all night. Then EQ was born and it was like the chat room + Game. I know Aion will have its serious faults, one being of course the special breed of PvPer kids that will plague the player base. Plus it's gonna be gear oriented and players who play the most will get said gear. I won't be one of those. However Aion does have some of the things I would like: -Pvp oriented game but it has PvE that is nessacery too. It's a half and half game, whereas WoW is all PvE and War is all PvP. -the characters and environment are lively and are to my liking (graphical style too). I can see myself messing around in Aion all day happily without being bored. It's silly of me to pin my hopes onto Aion, as I did the same with Warhammer... (I never learn hehe), but it's too late for me. I don't get bored easy, So long as I feel it's a social game for me, I'll stay. That's what keeps me to WAR for the most part, is you guys. I LOVE THIS ALLIANCE. You're some of the best players and friends that I have played with (in all the years). And so I'll be keeping WAR until it's End or if we all leave it. Come this fall we'll have to have a simple list, perhaps not a forum thread, but a page to this website where we can sign up for all the different games we want to play.

I agree with Edana. We need more emotes in WAR. Although I only want two: /can I haz muztardz? and /mustard gas in the hole. As for Aion, I did love playing my Assassin (Follow Up Strike > Dash Attack > Focused Evasion > Counterslash > Surprise Attack = Win :D). But the more Ainwe talk about the gear and the grind in Aion the more it gets sour in my tongue. It suddenly reminds me of a certain game that has now brain washed millions of people, including a large percentage of Mac gamers. But I'll still play Aion and see how the PvP goes. Because I get my kicks from PvP most of these days. Most likely, however, I'll get sucked into Champions Online. As a comic book enthusiast, it's a game where I can be comfortable and role-play. I'm already excited to unleash The BARD (The Bad Ass Rock Dude, a combination of Thor, The Thing and Glenn Danzig) in that game.

Well I don't think it will have a grind, really. The people that are complaining that it's grindy are the ones that are playing current WoW (Lvls 1-60 are handed to you). And as for the gear... well, I may not have great gear right away... but I -will- have the numbers. (Friends!!) Some outrageously geared enemy wandering around should think twice before attacking a group of 6 of us. :) Although I don't know, it may be easier to get gear than I'm guessing (Cuz I don't really know anyways :D). And I hear that the crafted gear is pretty great. (Get on it Bangur!) I'd play champs online with ya, but outside of the comic 'spawn', that genre doesn't really speak with me. ><

Well, I'm back from a hiatus where I couldn't play War - won't eun on my laptop. I'll be sticking around for a while but I will also be checking out FallenEarth which releases soon. I'm not in the beta but here is what I know. + Targetting is like an FPS - no auto target - you must target the other player, npc, of mob to hit it both in melee and with ranged. + magic is limited as it is handled through mutations - so you might have a stun spell, or a minor damage spell - the devs have stated you can't be full mutation and expect to get very far. + everyone can heal a little bit with med pacs and there will be some mutations that can can heal. + it is a faction baxed PvP with 1 arch enemy faction and 2 "really don't like you much factions. Then you also have a "we're best buds faction" and "I don't mind you hanging around me" faction for a total of 6 factions. + each faction city has trainers - the faction you are part of has certain skills for only your faction and other skills friendlys can learn. + supposedly there is no armor - clothing means nothing - dress the way you want. + basic weapons to start - shiv, zip gun, bat, bow or cross bow, bolt action rifle. + crafting ;ooked pretty involved - with scavenging and farming for parts - you can make poisons, ammo (yes you have to have ammo to shoot guns and bows) weapons, first aid kits, food, motorcycles, ATVs. dune buggies..... +transportation: Horses, atvs, dune buggies, motorcycles. The game isn't very pretty - but it is post apocolypse - so there isn't much "pretty" around. + Character creation is pretty extensive - lots of tats, war paint, piercings - along with the routine hair choices (about 20) and faces - also more than 10.... eye colors, etc. There is a hight scale along with age - but nothing for weight or other body parts. + you get to carry at least 5 weapons - right AND left leg for pistols, belt for knives, and 2 on the back for rifles and two handers - you toggle through them using the mouse wheel - so you can change pretty fast. + everyone is human - no elves or dwarves....mobs consist of other humans, mutated humans, mutated creatures, zombies, mutated plants. As I said I will be in WAR for awhile - but if it dies too much then I will have issues.

Ohh 0 forgot one thing - probably a biggy.... It has no classes. As you level you get points to spend on various skill or attributes. So you can be a moderately good rifleman - and moderately good melee - or go all out pistol with a little in mutations - different factions have different mutations - so you have to choose factions wisely.

If you saw my wall of toys and knew what I had in my gun cabinet - you probably are making a wise choice coming to my place. My kids think I'm a bit extreme - I think it was the battle axe and blow gun (not a little toy one - either) that threw them over the edge - although my two nine year old grandsons think they have the coolest granny around... I also find it odd ( in a funny way) that the game takes place in the Grand Cannyon Province which actually encompasses where I live.
