Gaiscioch Participation System Tutorial Video

Greetings Everyone,

Today you will notice when you go the participation system that something has changed. I have revamped this system to reduce the amount that it taxes our server during high claim times. Just to give you an idea, over the past 14 days we as a family have run over 460 events. Rendering every objective from all 460 of these has been bogging down the participation page as well as slowing the entire site. So to reduce the tax on the server I turned the event pages into the claiming pages. 

Now when you click "Participate" you will be taken to a page that lists the events that have happened over the past 7 days. From there you can click claim and go to the event's page. On the event's page you can select the objectives you completed and click "Claim Selected Objectives". If you claim a few in error simply select the ones you want to unclaim and click "Unclaim Selected Objectives".

The new system feels so much more smoother and organic. Nice job.

Only thing that is throwin people off is that the checkboxes are always unchecked on load. To the right of the checkbox youll see a checkmark when youve got the objective logged. The checkboxes can the be used to claim new objectives added or remove ones you may have marked accidentally.

Ok made it even easier :). Now you can browse by day and by game. :)

One issue i found is the tabs at the top for each day seem to be a day off. for example, Mon is showing events for the 17th. Today is showing events for yesterday 21st. This is on Google Chrome. I should mention that the new system is very nice as well.

I like the new system. Like Berkhof, I'm not seeing events on their correct days (using Firefox) and today's events are not visible.

Like the feel of the new system. One question, after you claim a event is there a button to go back to Participation Management Console?

I'm not new to the guild, but I'm new to participation. Do we only earn points on "official" and pre-scheduled events? For instance, if a group of us get together and run a dungeon or take a few WvW objectives does that count or does it have to be scheduled?

Thistlebloom, if you have at least 4 people from Gaiscioch, and somebody in the group can post credit, you can post and claim unscheduled events.  If you have any other questions on the participation system, please do ask!  :)

Yes, those count.  As stated, you need a minimum total of 4 GSCH or Tuatha ally members involved.  In addition, the event claimer must have both led, and been responsible for, each victory claimed.

(edited because members of Tuatha ally guilds can also claim events, they don't have to be repping GSCH)
