CBT2 Server Choice

Ok, somehow all of us missed this! Instead of a mega-NA server with channels, there will be 2 NA servers with channels. We had picked a channel, but not a server! If they continue this set-up for launch, we'll need to discuss a server choice.

For CBT2, we need to pick a Server in the next 2 hours. Since I am up and have noticed this and it is a beta, I am going to suggest we go with EDAN, Ch03

Go Edan. Unofficial RP server is Edan. We go where the RP goes.

I went to bed early too, and then only slept 3 hours and couldn't get back under. Dumb!

Heya! Is anyone else on right now and unable to see "EDAN" in the list?

I only see "Jordine" and "Alustin", I'm guessing for some reason it's displaying EU servers, even though I chose NA?

Same issue, it is showing me the EU list even though I should be NA

I'm not even in yet, it's patching the Xigncode3 engine right now, but it's going super slow.  I wonder if my Anti-malware software is blocking it. xD

Apparently the NA servers are not up yet, but no official word on why.

Yeah, they eventually came up. Lots of folks running about, so I'm learning to fish.

The Friends List in this game is a little buggy, but I was lucky to run into a couple Gaiscioch names that I recognized from this thread.  Add me if there's a guild up for the CBT.

We have been having lots of trouble with the friends list. GameVox is the best way to find who is actually online (some of us are trying out AFK fishing).

One thing to remember that has solved some of our Friending issues: when you get a request, you have to click to highlight the name of the requester in the window before clicking Accept at the bottom.

I must have done something wrong because Edan and Orwen show up on list but aren't available to me.

When you start your Launcher make sure it says North America Region   1.0.0.35 in the upper right-hand corner.  Also, you can not patch the CBT1 install, you have to completely remove it, then download the CBT2 launcher and install it freshly.

Actually, I see what Isha means.  It's a little confusing, because the Channels are actually named, now, instead of numbered.  Edan has to be at the top of the list, then if everyone agrees to be in a certain channel, like #2, then you would select Enter next to Balenos #X.  I assume that the #X represents yet another layer of sub-channels within the channel.

Be nice to have official confirmation of exactly how this works, so if anyone runs across a Dev post in the forums, Reddit or somewhere, toss a post up in here with the linkages.

Hm, it's not letting me use my reserved name.  How strange.

Ok, blahblahblahblah.... The answers to the server selection screen are in the Patch notes:

• Server Configuration

  • For CBT-2 we will feature a total of 4 servers; 2 for NA and 2 for EU. Each server will have a total of 10 possible channels, with 4 enabled by default with 6 to serve as overflow as needed.

Sorry, I'm mildly irritated atm, because they first say that we need to test Name Reservations in CBT2, according to that Important Dates news article:

17.02 | 08:00 UTC
• Everyone who reserved his name by 08:00 UTC will be able to use his reserved name during CBT2 to test this feature

But then they post in the CBT2 Patch Notes...

(yea, someone has used my "reserved" character name, but I still have to laugh because someone is obviously attached to it and gets to use it for the next 4 days, but then it's mine for the life of this game.  So... hahahahahahaha, suck it random anonymous individual!!  :DDD)

Hey there, this is your crazy Elder Briseadh here. I got a key and have been on a lot yesterday and will be getting on shortly. My family name is Crionna (only warhammer peeps will even remember that name as Briseadh's surname). We do have a GSCH clan going that I can invite you to. I think Fog wanted to do it, but he unfortunately is only going to be a night owl for this CBT. Neo and I probably jumped the gun, but the clan had 7 people in it before Fog even had the game redownloaded due to an issue or some such.

heh glad to help.  I was getting all flustered this morning, trying to figure some stuff out, but it never dawned on me to check the Patch Notes for any of it.  I searched pretty much everywhere, but that, and if it wasn't for someone saying they found something in the Patch Notes, I'd still be searching forums and social media for answers.  (>_>)
