Hi all! I love my Bright Wizard but I have a new friend starting and I want to move up alittle in the melee department and try a melee DPS. What does everyone suggest that would be an easy conversion from a brightwizard to a melee dps - white lion or witch hunter? I am not a big gamer so I want to take little steps of exploration to a new charactor that wont overwhelm me. All suggests helpful!! Thanks!

I've never played a Bright Wizard, but I have a WL and WH alt. They are both a lot of fun! The Witch Hunter is easier to play, because you (mostly) build up your energy with sword swings, until you release your gunshots. The White Lion, you have to keep track of your pet - and they often run off when you least expect them to... heh heh... I really couldn't recommend one over the other (since as I said, they are both fun), but... if you are looking for "little steps", try the Witch Hunter first ;) just my two cents - be sure to ask other folk in channels /AS and /3, I'm sure you will get a lot of helpful advice

Hello Jay! I know that's outside the choice range you suggested, but I'm having A LOT of fun with my Swordmasters. They have a quite different concept from the Bright Wizards but -- what the hell -- they are fun to play, deliver nice DPS and are real easy to start playing. Just get used to the proverbial "1,2,3 repeat" of the Swordmasters, make your choice rotation, and you're ready for T1 business. =) These are my fuzzy two cents.

You guys are awesome! Thank you for the advice! I played a Warlock on WOW so I am used to having a pet and how they run off at times :) (Stoat). As for teh Swordmaster, I started one but a bit too intense for me. I need to learn my movement better before I attack a tank - Seabhran. And Evesong, that is a very good point on being behind enemy lines and having support. I am starting this char with a healer and hopefully a tank so it may work. Yet, I have made my mind up and I picked a White Lion!! Beware and watch out for Jaylusaber and Bobo!! Hehe!! Thanks all for the help!

Hello Jay! Congrats on your choice. I hope your pet doesn't run off chasing bunnies in the middle of heated combat. =)

Thanks Sea!!! Luckily I have played in WOW with a pet and am used to how to work them, mostly. Hehe! So far I am liking that I am not as squishy as I was as a BW but I am sooo used to ranged stuff. I am trying to get used to getting in there and getting beat on:)

I recently started a WL myself, and I found a very nice addon to help with pet management. It's called LoyalPet. This addon allows you to setup your pet to always auto-attack your target, or to only auto-attack your target when you haven't assigned it a target already. You can also manage how it uses the abilities it gains from the training you use. Just thought I might pass on some knowledge I gained. It is especially helpful during chaotic RvR events or scenarios. I like to throw my pet on a healer and then focus on another target (assuming the healer is in the backlines). If that healer happens to die, my pet will then come back and attack my current target automatically. If you choose to use it you will just need to spend some time playing around with the settings to make it most effective for you. Hope you enjoy your new WL :-).

I think you will find the White Lion to be shear pwnage in the Tiers, 1-3; however, end game, I think you would have more fun with the WH. I've played both, and from others that I have talked to, you will be a much more efficient "ganker", in the T4. But, if fun is the name of your game while leveling, then I think you will find the WL to be more fun in oRvR as the lakes are smaller and the enemies will fall quicker to you. Hope that helps.

Witch Hunter! You get a hat, you gets to sneak around and all the different specs are awesomely fun to play with. I think Witch hunters are like Batman he's awesome dark, brooding, and he has the best utility belt worth of abilities. ...I'm completely bias.... WitchHunterFTWOMGWTFBBQ

You can't treat everything like it's a Life or Death situation or you'll die a lot of times (Write that down).

WLs are getting some interesting changes with the upcoming patch including a huge armour debuff which will improve their overall preformance in T4 since they can debuff their main dmg type now. For the purely selfish side of me honestly we dont need more WHs in T4. They serve a role there is no doubt but what Order on the whole lacks in T4 is solid pressing melee characters. WHs due to their nature as stealthers don't fit that profile (I will admit that the full disrupt spec is interesting for counter bombing but not too common) That tends to be the key difference to the Order and Destro popualtion in the end game and having a bunch of RDPS is fine but with the changes to CQ/ES Order is going to need more melee train now more than ever, cause lets be frank in this game the side that gives ground first 9 out of 10 has lost. And with the amount of Chosen and Choppa spam Destro tops order when it comes to pressing the lines forward. This goes form SCs to OrvR and cities and in the simplest of terms thats all a Bomb group is in the end. Enjoy your WL : ) We need more dedicated mdps in the higher tiers.

Thanks everyone for all their awesome advice. Boy, I really wasn't expecting so much. But I have been playing my WL a bit, I have to say I really still like my BW but WL is definately fun too. Just got to get used to everything. Again thats for the support and I will be in those upper levels soon :) Look for me, JAYLUSABER (white lion) or JAYLURAY (bright wizard)!! Take care!
