As promised to the members of the society, I will be posting many simple and yummy recipes here. Some take longer than others, some are originally mine, and others are from my family or from our favorite cookbook.

Tania's Fajitas 1-2 Peppers (Green or Red) 1 Large Onion 2-3 Sections from a Garlic Clove (Minced in a blender type thingy) 3 Chicken Breasts 1-3 Cups Jasmine Rice (Seasoned) 2 Large Tomatos (Diced) 2 Cups Shredded Cheese Tortillas, large ones work best. Sour Cream Slice peppers and onion thiny and put to the side. Slice the chicken breast into thin strips, and season with garlic, basil, oregano, cumin, and chili powder. Cook in large frying pan or wok, I prefer the wok myself. Throw all the veggies(excluding the tomatos) and chicken into the wok with very little oil so it doesn't stick, and you will know when the chicken is ready, there is no set cook time really. Putting in the veggies first is also good, if you do not like your peppers crunchy. The rest of the ingredients go into your tortillas as desired, including the rice, and then add the veggies and chicken, and wrap it like a taco. It can all be spiced to your tastes as far a hotness, this is just my basic recipe.

Granny's Sugar Cookies 1 cup Margerine 1 cup Sugar 1 Egg 1 tsp Vanilla or Vanilla extra, or other flavor Blend to cream the above 4 items well 3-1/2 cups Flour 1/4 tsp Soda 1/2 tsp Salt 1/2 tsp Cream of Tarter Sift together and stir in to the creamy mix Roll the dough into logs. If the dough doesn't feel right add a little more flour. Chill dough for a couple of hours. Slice off 1/4" slices of dough and flatten them with the heel of your hand. Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 mns. Do NOT mess around with this one, follow it exactly or its done. This is my Granny's own recipe, and its easy to mess up.

Thanks for posting these. Glad you could make it to the event. Heh, glad I actually gave up on IC and joined in for that matter. Enjoy that horse even if we got you one of the generic starter ones. =) At least you have a horse now!

Don't mess with Mama Bear, I might hug you too tight. =D

Alrighty! On to the bread involved foods! First, the two recipes I use for my doughs. 45 Minute Dough 3 1/2 Cup Flour 1 tsp Salt 1/2 tsp Sugar 1 1/2 tsp dry yeast 1 1/2 cup warm water 1 Egg Bowl 1 Flour Salt Sugar Egg Bowl 2 Water Yeast Let yeast and water sit for ten minutes, or...make the water hotter and mix it until the yeast dissolves. Does not seem to make a difference. Mix Bowl 1 and 2 together, knead well and into a ball, cover, then let sit for 45 Minutes. If you let it sit longer, go for a few hours and make a bread out of it.

15 Minute Dough 2 1/2 Cup Flour 1 tsp Salt 1/2 tsp Sugar 1 tsp dry yeast 1 Cup warm water 2 Tablespoon Veggie Oil Make the same way as 45 Minute Dough, replacing egg with oil, and 45 minutes with 15. Do NOT make bread out of this unless desperate. It does make OKAY bread. But not amazing bread.

Tomato Sauce This is your basic tomato sauce, but I list it since I use it in multiple things, and I find it much better than using store bought. 1 can tomato sauce 1 small can tomato paste Primary Spices in use no matter what: Basil Oregano Garlic For Spaghetti: Marjoram Sage Thyme Rosemary The spicing with this is all intuitive, you smell it, you know what you want there and what you don't. Heavier on the basil than the oregano is always a good thing, at least to me. You put in how much YOU like, and taste it until you do like it. If you add to much spice, open another can of sauce and add about half. You get more leftover sauce, but it helps kill the spices. If you are sensitive to acidity, a spoonful of sugar should do the trick, any more than that messes with the taste, unless you like sweet sauce. If you add to much sugar, balance with garlic, not salt. You can also use a splash of red wine instead of sugar. Less taste issues that way. Doesn't matter what you cook it in or what meat you add. It tastes good. I know, I know, why complicate sauce directions. Simple. I want it to taste really good for you so I give you all my thoughts.

Calzone 45 Minute Dough Tomato Sauce (Primary Spices) Shredded Mozzarella Cheese(I like a lot) Meat of your choice, slice it thinly. (Chicken is best IMO, beef and ground beef are also good. Dorgh suggests trying pork) Black Olives 1 large pizza pan or cooking sheet Basically have fun! Anything you put on a pizza you can put in this. >Butter or grease pan >Preheat to 400° >Flatten Dough into a round pizza-like shape, as large as it will let you. >Spread Sauce over half of it. >Add meat >Add cheese >Add veggies >Fold over dough and close tightly like a pastry >Slice three air holes in the top >Bake for 30 Minutes (Or until it looks done. Sometimes the time varies a little.)

"White" Pizza Tania Style Okay, so, most people will know that traditional white pizzas have ricotta cheese. I HATE ricotta cheese. This is my twist on the classic, and its pretty yummy. Especially for those of you who dislike sauce on your pizzas. 15 Minute Dough Mozzarella Cheese (Shredded) Garlic butter 2 Chicken Breasts Sliced thin 1 Pizza Pan buttered of greased Flatten Dough on pan Spread a thin layer of garlic butter all over as though you were using sauce Spice chicken breast slices to your taste and spread them around evenly Layer the cheese on top Preheat the oven to 400° 20-25 mins in the oven.
