I wanted to spec my Warrior Priest to heal in close melee combat instead of just standing behind the lines and pushing one button. So I don't know if this is a good spec:

Well dude I don't know much about the getting into melee combat aspect I did it when i was leveling but found much better use out of the striaght healing spec but I have a post about WP's from my old guild mate Fooser that was a nice breakdown of the wp and its skills when it came to healing that I will share with the guild here :) I'm not rank 40 and RR80 on my WP yet, but from what I've seen, WP and DoK are the closest classes to being exact mirrors in WAR, they have all the same mechanics and tools. The difference is that, in my opinion, WP gets some better tactics, and are capable of better healing overall. Here is what the mastery build will look like when you're at 40, I hope the link shows up correctly: http://www.wardb.com/career.aspx?id=12# ... 5:0:0:0:25 Mechanic: Righteous Fury You build up Righteous Fury to a cap of 250 by either using melee abilities, or using a special skill to convert AP to RF. If you're going pure healer, you will find yourself mostly getting your RF from tome regen and: Supplication - For the next 5 seconds, you will convert 30 action points into 30 Righteous Fury every second. If you run out of action points or break your concentration, this effect will end. Tome Regen: Green Tome - 6RF/sec Blue Tome - 9RF/sec Purple Tome - 12RF/sec The RF you generate is then used to power your healing. Healing spell costs are between 30-75 depending on what heal you utilize. Also at rank 12, you will get this little guy: Smite - *Builds 50 Righteous Fury, plus 15 for each stricken enemy* A sweeping blow which deals 15 damage to all enemies in front of you, up to 40 feet away. *This has the potential to be a major component to your RF regeneration. This is BETTER than Essence Lash, the DoK version of this skill. If you're low on RF, see grouped up enemies, and don't mind moving up, this is the way to go. (Skill descriptions are for rank 1, they're better as you level obviously) Warrior Priest Core Healing Tools Rank 1 Divine Aid - Heals an ally for 33 points, and an additional 87 over 9 seconds. (Cost 55RF) *One of your most expensive heals, for not much of a benefit at first glance. But unlike your bigger HoT this one gives off some instant healing. If there is someone in trouble and you direct heals are down (or you don't have them yet), this is the emergency button .. sometimes you'll need to use it over and over on the same person, draining your SF to nothing. But sometimes you just need to do it. Rank 3 Healing Hand - Heals your target for 200 health over 15 seconds. (Cost 30RF) *This is your big hot, and will possibly be your most used skill, especially before you get your party heal. It's cheaper and heals more. When you hit Rank 40 with a max healing tree, it will do 1500 healing over 15 seconds. Downside is that there is no immediate benefit when you cast it, and the effects will only be felt a few seconds later. Rank 6 Divine Strike - You crush your enemy, dealing 10 damage to them. The divine power of Sigmar heals your defensive target and any allies within 10 feet of them for 50% of the damage that was dealt. (30 AP cost, 30RF generates) *Useful, but probably not the first thing you'll look for to heal. If you're in a melee fight, you can use it to heal yourself for small amounts while building up righteous fury. It can also be useful if you see a bunch of teammates taking damage, and they're all clumped up. Run over to whoever they are fighting, target yourself or one of them, and start smacking. Rank 8 Divine Assault - You repeatedly assault an enemy, attacking their very spirit and offering it up to Sigmar's will. You strike the target up to four times over 3 seconds, dealing 10 damage per hit. Each hit heals your defensive target for 350% of the damage that was dealt. (Cost 25RF/sec, 75RF total) *This is your equivalent to a three (or is it 2.5 now?) big heal of the caster healers. Can be very good, especially if you're fighting someone and need the health. As for healing others, it can be tricky. You first need to identify and target someone who needs a big heal, then identify a close enemy target near you, then run up to them and use this skill and you should see your targets bar go up. Problem is, if they're taking damage too fast this process will usually be too slow to save them. Rank 10 Breath of Sigmar - Resurrects a fallen ally with 20% health. (Cost 20RF) *This is your basic resurrect, know when to use it and when not to. Rank 16 Purify - You purify an ally, removing one Curse or Hex. (Cost 25RF) *To be honest, I never really used this skills equivolent on my DoK, you can usually find better things to do with your RF. Rank 20 Touch of the Divine - Restores 72 health to your entire group. (Cost 60RF) *This is the best thing you have for direct healing. If you have good willpower, and max out your healing tree, this will heal all six party members for 1000+ (1500+ crit) every three seconds (cast+cooldown) which is a lot. It's costly but totally worth it. Later on when you have a purple tome, you can spam this quite efficiently. Rank 30 Sigmar's Radiance - You smash into your enemy, dealing 20 damage to them. The power of Sigmar erupts from your weapon, healing any of your other groupmates within 30 feet for 50% of the damage that you dealt, but this will not affect you. (35 AP cost, 40RF generated) *Can be useful, but mostly in open RvR situations. The plus side of this skill is that it is a small group heal if you have no RF, and it generates RF also. Warrior Priest Mastery Healing Tools (you need to buy these through the Path of Salvation tree) Divine Light - Everyone in your group becomes surrounded by a magical barrier for 10 seconds, which will absorb up to ____ damage for each person. (Cost 40RF) *Your first skill from the mastery tree. This party bubble will absorb close to 800 damage from all group members when you are at max rank, and if you turn the perspective around, it is basically an 800 direct heal on everyone in the group. Pious Restoration - You call upon Sigmar to Bless everyone in your group, restoring health over 15 seconds. (Cost 40RF) *At max, this is a HoT for 600 health over 15 seconds. Not impressive overall, but get the skill. It's a single click to put a HoT on 6 people, and you should have it up whenever possible. Martyr's Blessing - You open your soul to Sigmar and become a living force of holy power for up to 3 seconds, as long as you maintain your concentration. Each second, all allies within 30 feet of you will regain health, and you will consume 20 Righteous Fury. This effect will end if you lose your concentration or if you run out of Righteous Fury. (Cost 60RF overall) *A weak, but good AoE heal. Most notable in Orvr situations, you can run in the middle of an allied group and heal them all at once. Morale Suggestions Rank 1 Received at: Level 8 Divine Favor - A strong heal that will restore 240 health to your target. *As a melee healer, you'll want all the life saving power you can get your hands on, so this one is a keeper for sure. When you max your rank, this will heal someone for 1800 health, which is pretty nice. Often times you will find yourself using this morale right when it comes up, even before considering higher ranked morales. Rank 2 Received at: Level 12 Rampaging Siphon - Deals 80 damage to all enemies within 30 feet, and heals your entire group for the full amount of damage dealt. *Can be a surprisingly good group heal, and plus it does AoE damage. Rank 3 Received at: Level 24 Divine Protection - Everyone in your group is surrounded by a protective shield, which will absorb a large amount of damage from melee abilities. *Another nice party bubble. The problem with this one though is that it is in between your Rank 1 direct heal and your powerful rank 4 morale, which means it might not get utilized as much as the others. Rank 4 Received at: 15 mastery points Gift of life - Your entire group regains _____ health over 9 seconds. *Haven't used this one yet personally, but it seems like a pretty strong group HoT. The alternative R4 morale would be the instant rez, which isn't useful in all situations. Tactic Suggestions (This is listed from most important down, you obviously can't use them all if you're under 40 or haven't reached the rank required to get them) Discipline - Increases your Willpower by 4. *The big stat boost for your healing. You get this at Rank 19 (there is one below that you get sooner, so will probably use first). Never go anywhere without this one once you hit 19. Emperor's Ward - Any time you are attacked, there is a 25% chance that you will become protected by a magical barrier for up to 10 seconds, which will absorb up to 35 damage. *This is your first tactic at rank 11, and you should use it when possible. As a healer you'll be targeted for damage and focus fire. The more protection you have the better. Cleansing Power Link: http://www.wardb.com/spell.aspx?id=8289 Whenever you heal an ally with Divine Aid, Touch Of The Divine, Pious Restoration, or Martyr's Blessing, they will also be cured of 1 Curse. *Since Pious Restoration is your group heal, this could rip DoT curses off your party every few seconds. It's really early in your mastery tree also (4 points I think) When you hit 40 you will have some choice as to what to stick in the final tactic spot. It's up to you, but here are some suggestions: Shield of Faith - Increases your chance to Disrupt enemy spells by 10%. *You'll already have a high disrupt rate since you'll have high willpower (I'm nearing 20% on my DoK), this could put you up into the 30% range if you want to be defensive. Exalted Defenses - Any time you defend against an attack, your healing abilities will become 20% more effective for 10 seconds. *Can give you a little boost whenever you block. Fueled Fury - Whenever you are hit by an enemy, you will have a 25% chance to gain 35 Righteous Fury. Tactic can not trigger more than once every 3 seconds. *A decent RF generator you get at 37. But by that time you should already be searching for a blue or purple chalice, so it's use is questionable. Unwavering Faith - Increases your Spiritual Resistance by _____ . *A decent resist booster. Prayers These are basically exact mirrors of DoK covenants, there is one for armor boosting, one for heal boosting, and one for damage boosting. I would suggest either the armor one or the healing one. You can only have one up at a time, and they will effect your party members, even when you are dead. Prayer of Devotion - Any time one of your groupmates attacks an enemy, there is a 20% chance that they will regain 15 health. Prayer of Absolution - You chant a bolstering prayer, increasing your group's armor by 16.

Thanks Threynos. Melee Healing is extremely fun when I'm against NPC opponents (Keep Lords especially). But it's not so good against hordes of Destro players. So I guess I'll stick with conventional healing. Plus, people hate me when I'm not carrying a book.
