So overpowered...I'm playing one, and I'm laughing my butt off.

Fights are over in seconds, I have NEVER seen squishies fall so fast...premades with 4+ slayers mop the scenarios over and over (same for destro side I guess), fights are usually over in seconds.

Get full str set + str pots and wade into a group of mobs in PVE and drop them faster than most classes can take out one...balance? hehe...

Slayers are balanced, I think. Four slayers can do an awful lot of damage, but one slayer can’t, and that’s the balance. Four Skavenslayer-specced slayers will mow down clothies like a lawnmower vs. grass, and four Giantslayer or Trollslayer specced slayers will do the same to tanks… but slayers themselves only last a few seconds longer than witch hunters once attention is focused on them. They’re extremely vulnerable to ranged attacks, especially given that the only way they have to reduce their fury (and thus, the amount of damage they’re taking) is to attack an enemy, which isn’t always possible or prudent. There’s a serious balance there when, as a bright wizard, I can take a choppa down in 4-5 spells if he’s berserking. The key, of course, is staying away from em long enough. The way I see it, slayers and choppas (but especially slayers, it seems) are basically AoE specced melee bright wizards. They’re tougher, because they have to get into the thick of it, and the damage they do against large groups is ridiculous. But unlike Bright Wizards, they’ll never be that great against single targets… Witch Hunters still own that aspect as a melee class. They can be passably good vs. single targets, but gain their true strength when fighting in large groups, against large groups. The Trollslayer and Giantslayer paths are good and all, but they’re like the Great weapon specs for Ironbreaker and Knight of the Blazing Sun… they’re two paths that take something a slayer “can” do, and make them better at it (DPS against a single target), but not so much better that they begin to compete with the Witch Hunter. So, the bottom line is: if you want to drop healers and nukers like nobody’s business, without needing backup to at least trade 1 for 1, play a Witch Hunter. If you want to drop everything within a 20 foot radius of you, as long as you’ve got backup (but die like a punk if you don’t have backup), play a Slayer. Personally, I play both :)

Hehe right now I'm having a blast with the Slayer...its disgusting, in T1 I had ~250str + rvr 2h axe was close to unstoppable...target the tank, flurry/flurry/wildswing/flurry/flurry/deathblow + morale and next thing you know 3-5 people are dead, including the BO/BG/ that was the main target. It sure feels good to drop WEs like they are gnats. DoKs? No problem. In T2 its even worse now that I have power through, I've not lost a 1v1 vs any class, usually get the jump on them and its game over...lol its getting to the point that some destros that I usually blow away sees me and automatically turn around and run...I've not had much problems with choppas either...its amazing how many horrible slayer/choppa players are out there. Anyway, sure, its not OP...I hope they never nerf it, I'm having a great time with it...everytime I see destro I charge in with str + bubble pot and its funtime :)

On this note, maybe we could devote a little party in the Flanking Warband to a 4x Slayer with 2 RP/WP supporting in the distance. It seems when four choppas roll team style [focus fire with main assist] it takes half a WB focused to stop them. A giantslayer [main assist] supplemented by a few skavenslayers and you have a team of killing. Just a thought, if you upper echelon planners read this old post. Lud'

I have to agree with Eirynn... I see slayers like a strong meat shield. You can't do a lot lonely, but when you're a bunch together it will hurt badly in oRVR. Slayers die fast, but hit very strong, i think it's well balanced! It's only the total opposite of a tank...

Oh sorry for the double post: But is it better a 2h slayer or a dual wield? What is the difference?

2H is required for a lot of the Giant Slayer spec stuff, but not all of it... same with dual wield for Skavenslayer. Realistically, you can get by doing whichever you want. Damage seems to be about the same, but then, I'm only level 12, so I may not be high enough for the variance to be noticeable. I tend to prefer using my AoE's (and thus, the Skavenslayer spec) for ORvR, but both Giantslayer and Trollslayer make very effective flanking forces as well, since they can drop single targets (like healers and nukers) much faster than a Skavenslayer spec can. Again, Witch hunters will do that better than a Slayer ever could, but that doesn't mean you can't (or shouldn't) do that as a slayer. I use a 2H weapon with my Knight of the Blazing Sun for a reason... because it's fun!

It should also be noted that, at low levels, very few of your abilities have a weapon restriction. Using flurry with a great axe is just as easy as it is dual wielding.

Hehe I'm game for a 4x slayer + wp killing group...yes they are very hard to stop...if ur solo just ask a spare tank to guard you and have a healer HoT b4 you run into battle, pop a respite pot, hit the 25% AP reduction buff, spam away and waste their rear line before their tanks can stop you...if the AP drain morale is up hit the healer, that stops healing dead cold, usually you'll see the healer turn and run, which is great because you can hit them with spine crusher, and takes a healer out of action. I do die, but usually taking 2-4 with me...so numbers look pretty good on Dammaz Kron. I use 2h with skaven right now, there's no reason to go DW until later, and deathblow is just...wonderful...I solo equal level champs using the PVP 2H axe, its disgusting.

DW will give you +10% to your parry skill. You also have advantage of 2 things that have stats and sockets on them. Also, Troll Slayer has a self heal life-tap in the tree that works well.

I've decided to make a KotBS insteand of my slayer... I know i was doing way more damage as a slayer, but i just can't stand to die so fast... I am someone who like to be in the first line of the battle... So i'll try to KotBS...
