So I found GA yesterday. It is a FPS-MMO that looks way better than Tabula Rossa. They have removed the idea of a subscription and are going to apply a hug patch in July for open world content.

The basic premise if future 3rd person combat. You get a variety of weapons and 'offhands' and can only a few of each into battle. You can mod you weapons and armor with various effects such as extra range, damage or hp. Buffed equipment is given as rewards for finished PvP and PvE matches.

There is also the ability to customize your look with various suits and helmets and a plethora of dyes.

The main play types are PvE, PvP and AvA. Currently the PvE missions are varying levels of a mass of robots and minibosses that lead up to a boss. You get xp for each kill and then bonus xp and loot for finishing the mission. PvP consists of 6 types 'mercenary' missions. These are varying types of controlling points, attacking or defending objectives and a robot war version of capture the flag. There is also Arena matches consisting of 4v4 right now.

The AvA right now is a Hex map with controlling alliances colored in. Each Hex is open for a time period every 3 days. At this time rival agencies can bid to attack the open hexes. If you win you assemble you best 10 for a strike force to that hex. You buy or build a dropship and equip it with whatever AvA items you can fit. (rocket turrets, mini nukes, vehicles and mechs. You then play out a match against the defending 10 (or whatever they can assemble to D against you.)

All in all it is a lot of fun. As you level you gain access to more skills and weapons. There are talents trees for each class, Assault, Recon, Medic and Robotics. (think tank, dps, heals, support)

the new patch is bringing an open world environment so that should add a lot of new playability to the game.

Heh...I just bought it for $7.50 on Steam. Worst case is I waste a couple of hours on it. I played it a few months ago as a trial and thought it was okay. There are rumors that bots are rampant in the game though, so take that for what it's worth.

Well I hate to tell you this, but I am not a ganker or a griefer and this game is the most fun I have had in an FPS since Battlefield 1942. I have leveled 2 characters to 20 and 2 to 10. Maybe you are talking End Game problems, but I have not seen anything you were talking about. True my fist character I only did solo PvE missions until about lvl 13 then I could not finish the ones I was getting.... then I learned how fun the PvP mercenary scenarios are. If you non-stop join 4 player PvE mission queues, or Mercenary PvP mission queues, you can pop 2 or 3 while just running from one solo mission to the next. That makes you a much higher level while doing the solo missions and makes them easy to finish. I also have only been one shot once or twice that I know of. As for the 13 point skill trees.... that is because it is an FPS... completely understandable that you only want to be able to slightly modify your character to fit your play style and not turn yourself into an unstoppable ganker. I thought I was only going to play the free trial until Rift came out... but it was so much fun I bought the full version, just to play until Rift comes out and probably longer.

I hate to tell you this, but Global Agenda has been subscription free since before it was released a year ago. And the open world content was added LAST July. I've been playing it for a while now, its one of my favorite Shooters because its not an instant pwnt game like all the other ones are. Most shooters on the market are pretty much reaction time test. GA is actually a team skill test. There are no one hit kills, even a fully upgraded sniper-con takes 2 shots to kill someone, and its not even an instant bullet, it has a dodge-able travel time. The Most OP thing IN the game right now is probably the Magma launcher, which just adds a DOT to anyone caught in the blast. I Play a Bomber-con myself, sometimes switching to Robo-nester. My one irk is the melee combat. All classes have a melee capable spec but none can do it as great as a melee-con, and even then it still takes 3-5 swings to kill someone, not particularly lethal but if one of those damn things is chasing you, your going to die.

I also bought this about a week ago since it was only for $8, and I've been curious about it since last year. Didn't try it yet though. Probably tomorrow.

I also enjoyed GA and have owned it since launch. I haven't played in about six months and the game has changed so much that it's hardly recognizable now. I have definite plans to start playing again soon. I mainly play my Robo but do also have a lvl 20-something recon.
