So I found GA yesterday. It is a FPS-MMO that looks way better than Tabula Rossa. They have removed the idea of a subscription and are going to apply a hug patch in July for open world content.
The basic premise if future 3rd person combat. You get a variety of weapons and 'offhands' and can only a few of each into battle. You can mod you weapons and armor with various effects such as extra range, damage or hp. Buffed equipment is given as rewards for finished PvP and PvE matches.
There is also the ability to customize your look with various suits and helmets and a plethora of dyes.
The main play types are PvE, PvP and AvA. Currently the PvE missions are varying levels of a mass of robots and minibosses that lead up to a boss. You get xp for each kill and then bonus xp and loot for finishing the mission. PvP consists of 6 types 'mercenary' missions. These are varying types of controlling points, attacking or defending objectives and a robot war version of capture the flag. There is also Arena matches consisting of 4v4 right now.
The AvA right now is a Hex map with controlling alliances colored in. Each Hex is open for a time period every 3 days. At this time rival agencies can bid to attack the open hexes. If you win you assemble you best 10 for a strike force to that hex. You buy or build a dropship and equip it with whatever AvA items you can fit. (rocket turrets, mini nukes, vehicles and mechs. You then play out a match against the defending 10 (or whatever they can assemble to D against you.)
All in all it is a lot of fun. As you level you gain access to more skills and weapons. There are talents trees for each class, Assault, Recon, Medic and Robotics. (think tank, dps, heals, support)
the new patch is bringing an open world environment so that should add a lot of new playability to the game.
