I wasn't sure if the tutorial section or literature and art section would be a better home for my lessons, so I blindly chose literature based on what this may lead you to reading.  I'd like to also point out that if my lessons are in any way a breach of forum rules or customs that I apologize in advance and give my blessing to have them removed.

My lessons are also not to be meant to be the only way to say things, for example while I might say 'how are you doing' as 'cad e mar ata tu', other ways are perfectly acceptable such as 'cen chaoi bhfuill tu' or 'conas ata tu' among others.  In writing and speech I primarily use the Ulster dialect, and any other Irish speaker will understand what I am saying - much like a person from Texas might say different things and in a different accent than a person from New York and both will understand each other.

I will update and add lessons as I have free time, any other speakers feel free to add to my lessons.  I feel no need to be superior on the subject and my sole intent is to give knowledge to our community on something that people might think is neat or possibly find useful.  I will try to lend an English phonetical equivalent on how to pronounce words, but again my dialect is not the most common and speakers of other dialects are free to add in their pronounciations.

I hope you find my lessons interesting and informative.  There are better resources out there, but I do this simply because I love the language and miss speaking/typing it to real people rather than reading static books (of which I have a few that have their copyrights expired due to their old age).

Thank you for reading my introduction.

-Joseph

This will be cool. I was going to do some vocabulary based on some things I have, but haven't gotten to it. I'm only a crazy fledgling with my Irish. On the other hand I have a long line of Irish Blarney to fall back on. ;)

Don't mess with Mama Bear, I might hug you too tight. =D

I'm intimidated by Irish! It's true. I think it's because the spellings using the latin alphabet bear so little resemblance to how the words sound when spoken.

Yeah, why do you think I get called Bree in vent. LOL! It's what worked in Warhammer and has stuck every since.
