Looking to start a group for farming Arah Explorable

Hello all.

Against my better judgement considering how hard people say this is, I decided that I really want to equip my ranger with the Arah set, so I would like to find another 4 (or more) souls with the same persistence and a taste for big challenges with even bigger payoffs. If you fit the description, read along.

My plan is to have a tight group to run the dungeon daily (or as frequently as possible) to farm Shards of Zhaitan until all are equiped. Knowledge of the dungeon is desirable, but not required. I prefer players that are knowledgeable of their classes and willing to learn and figure out creative solutions together.

I am usually in-game from 6pm PST to 12am PST, so scheduling can be a little flexible. My plan is to have between 1 to 2 hours set for our runs, depending on the dungeon's difficulty, and how many paths we can make each day.

I am definitely in for as much as I can. I also tend to run a Fractal every day plus make some of the scheduled guild events so I am not sure how many I could fit in, but I would love to get in there and explore some Arah and our play-times line up pretty well so if I am on please give me a shout! Phantomstarr, Guardian Extraordinaire, plenty of experience in that place. :-D

It is a bit late as I am East coast but If you can catch me before I either logged out or in a Fractal group. I can run Arah. I need the gift plus I would like a couple pieces of armor as well. I have run Path 3 a few times so I know it pretty well. I also know most of Path 2 as I have run it once. Plus if you have never fought Lupicus I can explain how things should go.

As far as frequency goes, I'm willing to go with whatever works best for the group. I originally posted "daily" because... well, a full set of armor costs a lot of Shards, and those will take a lot to farm. But if most of the group would prefer something along 3 day a week, we can make that work. I'll wait a little until more people have a chance to check in their interest, and then we can find the most optimal arrangements for all.

I'm interested in running some Arah. All I really want out of Arah, are the Heavy Chest, Legs and Gloves for appearance, but the extra tokens might come in handy, later, for some of my other toons. Time: The only time I absolutely need to AFK (during the weekdays) is from 8pm to 9:30pm server (PST). Sometimes I do like to do the big 6pm events, but since the last culling patch that really goofed up the server and client performance, I haven't been attending them. Also, the new Guild Missions, if scheduled in conflict, will take precedence for me to attend those. Classes (in order I prefer to run dungeons with): Ranger: Tabitha Wannara = AOE Heals Bunker Beastmaster build Mesmer: Nelfaar Wannara = Crit DD DPS and Confusion/Conditions build Necro: Zuulnasta Wannara: Staff and Dagger based Marks and Wells AOE Conditions build GW2 ID: Sekkerhund.3790 Primary GSCH Room: Na Morrigan Experience: I haven't been to Arah, but tbh, I have found no content in this game that really challenges me, I just play it for the fun of all the neat stuff to do.

Was looking to start a thread on a dedicated Arah Exp farming group but you beat me to it. I am serious as a heart attack about getting one or more paths on daily farm for the 1380 Shards needed for our full Arah Exotic set. I love the lore and aesthetics of this zone and its instances. Availability: Anytime daily guaranteed from 1:30pm server to 9:00pm. I'm East Coast and head in to work about 4:45am (my time) so pushing me past 9:00pm server is possible for progression but not encouraged. Sundays open. I didn't really want to schedule this too late, but starting early in the day puts me in the uncomfortable position of trying to compete with other bigger guild events, a fight I will surely lose participants to. So here's my initial suggestion: let's try to schedule this event for 7pm PST every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. If that works for most of you, we can start this week and see if we need to change the schedule later.

7:00pm server is decent. I did an Arah P3 run this evening to get a feel for what we're in for. Took about 1.15hrs w/ 2 plp in the group (mostly GSCH) never having been. Lupicus is the only hiccup along the way. Once we have him on one-shot our speed farms will go down smooth as an omnom bar. We stopped to kill "additional" mobs as well on trails between bosses. The 0.5hr speed runs one sees on YT are groups that are accustomed to farming that particular path multiple times, running through much of what we paused to kill in the 1.15hr run. Additionally, we wiped on Lupicus several times. The 23 runs required for our Shards ought to take us ~8 weeks if we strictly stick to Kemwer's suggested schedule. Quite casual and manageable imo.

Well, anytime between 6pm and 9pm server competes with the large Elder events. They are slotted to last for 3 hours. 7pm is fine, even for me, but don't worry about the 6pm Elder events, because not everyone goes to them, especially WvW ones. I'd say Tuesday is your worst day to try to run a dungeon between 6-9.

7 server is a bit late for me to run arah Daily. But If you want a I can give you a walkthrough of P3 one night to help your speed runs. I have been able to run arah P3 within 30 minutes in a Pug a few times. This is only if everything goes well and the fight with lupicus is done in one shot.

@Sekkerhund: I'm not really worried about the WvW events, the days I picked were not to compete with the most PvE-oriented events such as The Great Tyrian Adventure on Tuesdays, or Phantom's dungeon runs on Mondays and Fridays. I does overlaps with Cerulean's Arah run on Saturdays, which didn't bother me at first because he's doing Story Mode runs, but we can try to accommodate to that now that he shown interest on joining us. :) @FinalFAB: I don't know if it would be possible to run earlier than that. I'm on PST myself and I work until 6pm, and while I'm usually free by that time my work can be a little unpredictable, so I don't want to schedule something and not being able to show up because I got delayed for half-hour or more due to some project.

Its ok I know is hard to get times together and that's fine. I can run my stuff earlier in a pug. If I am not in a fractal run though or not logged off yet send me a whisper and I'll join for a run.

I'll make an earnest effort to me at the 10:00pm eastern time run tonight. I'd like to get in one guild run on the scheduled nights. I missed last night because I did P3 two times while waiting for our group run and it was late and I just logged. Did P3 another 2 times today after work and there's another 1.5hrs until our time slot. I'll try to make it to support the group.

There was one scheduled last night? I did not see it on the calendar, and I checked about 4pm PST to see what was scheduled for the night.

Yeah, we had two runs scheduled for this past few days, but since this is a closed group I didn't see a point in adding it to the guild-wide calendar. On both days, wednesday and thursday there were not enough people online from this group, and the ones that were online were busy with other dungeons, so I just decided to postpone it. According to the dates I mentioned on a previous post, there should be another run today. I'm hoping this time there will be enough of us online to do the run.
