Tip I picked up from the first video: Try to stay behind the boss.
At the start of fight, when everyone is gliding to the platform where the boss is located, be prepared to dodge when you land.

Staying behind the boss is difficult as there is no clear sign where he is facing and he tend to turn around lightning fast for shard attack.
Yesterday I had the opportunity to explore the entire new raid wing. The Scholar Glenna NPC has videos of the raid bosses. That Deimos boss looks very intimidating.
With the newly released content, I've seen a number of Anet staff in-game---Apricot Jacks and Magical Spelka in Lake Doric, Tiny Tee (Tirzah Bauer) doing a bovine impression in our guild chat, and one running in WvW with Yak's Bend (I got another Anet kill).

Mika, your advice to stack at the boss appears the way to go. In the video, the mesmer basically stays at the base of the boss except for when the green/purple circles appear. Three players get the red aura damaging debuff, but they just heal through it without bothering to move away.

The guild is making progress on this boss. Today we got him down to 75% health.
We still have to work on the mechanics. For example, I got hit twice when a player with the red aura agony debuff ran to the green circle that I was already standing on. Maybe what we have to do is equip AoE healing (Wash the Pain Away, Healing Spring, Well of Eternity). The player with the agony debuff will cast the AoE heal when he arrives at the circle occupied by a player without the debuff.
