I was sad to miss the adventure last night, but I was in the ER for hours as they tried to break a migraine that was one of the worst ones I have had so far. So sorry to miss it. The reason I am writing this is because my schedule might be pretty come and go as the doctor will be doing some additional tests to figure out why these keep getting worse and taking some preventative measures to ensure I do not have other complications from them. If I have any signs of a headache I have to get off the computer and go rest. So if I up and leave someone event I apologize ahead of time and hope everyone will understand. Happy gaming, family:)

Good luck with the doctors. Someone I worked with in the past had terrible migraines and it was related to her sinuses, she ended up having surgery on them. It helped but didn't cure the problem for her. She went to some specialist headache place in Philly.

Hope you get it all worked out... and as a Migraine sufferer and being friends with a acutely severe migrain sufferer I can only offer one recommendation that helped both of us. Our migraines were triggered by diet (certain foods). Mine completely left after a diet change and hers were controlled for 80% of the time. This is not the case for everyone - different things trigger migraines - but hey - trying something doesn't hurt if you haven't tried it before. If you wish to try it... just keep track of what you eat in a journal. It will usually trigger within 24 hours - but could be up to 48 depending on your metabolism and it could also be pretty quick. You will notice a pattern if it is foods (or the chemicals in them - alkalai, sulfites, etc). Once you get it to the foods that affect you - start looking at the ingredients in the foods. The body is a complex machine and reacts differently for everyone to "tell" you that you are doing something wrong for "you" - you just have to listen. I wish you well. ps. My triggers... alkalai (commonly used to process cocoa) anything with this in it knocked me out for 3 days usually, msg, sulfites, corn (thus corn starch, corn sweetners, etc.) aspartame.

I know first had how crippling migraines can be. I am a severe migraine suffer. I get them on average 4 to 6 times a week. Mine usually start out with pain and light sensitivity but end up in nausea and tremors. Unfortunately I am in the few that get tremors. My problems have arose because of multiple head traumas and a severe mountain bike meets drunk driver event when I was 32. I was diagnosed with severe nerve dmg which was triggering them. Besides the normal pain medication route which I do not recommend to anyone. I do not have a choice in that field because of other issues. But recently I was put on a new medication called Neurontin. I learned about it at one of my support groups for my many problems. yeah i am a walking disaster. I found out that it has had promissing results with severe migraine patients. I been on it now for 6 months and can say my simptoms and issues from migraines has dropped significantly. It might be something you want to ask your doctor about. Alot of the patients in my support group for migraines are on it and are noticing quite a bit of relief. it is an off use for it since its really an anit seisure med but if it works not going to knock it.

The artificial sweetener acesulfame-k, or ace-k, gives me debilitating migraines. It is the sweetener in all the Pepsi and Coke 'One' products. I have to read every food label every time to make sure they haven't changed the formulations. I also use computer glasses to keep from tipping my head up so high to see through the bifocal in my regular glasses. That way I don't get nearly as much eye and neck strain.
