Hey everyone,
Thursday night, (while waiting in queue for WvW) I received a few in game mails from a player.  It was pretty cool to get something random like this :)

The first was asking is Gaiscioch Na Morrigan was part of our alliance,  if we had players in Jade Quarry Battlegrounds, and thanked me for my time.

I replied that yes indeed we're one big happy family, and that I was sitting in queue for wvw, I had no idea. lol.

The next mail was the best part...

"I ask because one of the members was very nice and helpful to me (an "enemy" wvw player) and I wanted to say thank you.
Unfortunately I do not know their name.  Just that I think it was a human mesmer.  We did the jump puzzle  and they stuck with me through the entire thing.
I am a very short human ranger.  I just wanted to say thanks! You guys are great!  Good luck, have fun"

I told her I would pass the word on to the family and thank you so much for the message.
It was pretty neat getting something like this!

Have a great day everyone!

Nessa Meara / Xhex

It's stuff like this that makes people interested in who we are. It's what we stand for as a Community oriented group rather than being a guild doing its own thing. We even got our enemies wanting to come out and fight us in Warhammer because they knew it would lead to some interesting, tough, yet fun battles. In WvW they won't see a name ever, just the enemy title and the guild tag. So far as I know GSCH is only on our five guilds and on no others. I like that GW2 allows people on other servers mail you in game since it mails to your account name. Allows those willing to make the effort of thanking the "enemy" for help in the jumping puzzle, a really good fight, or whatever might have added to the fun of the game. A plus to this game since a lot of games I've played in the past never let you do this. LOL, had to edit because my good hand slipped over one spot on home row and made some interesting words.

Then afterwards, they probably used their blueprint rewards to assist their server in taking an objective away from us, or rain arrows and rocks down on the heads of our teammates. While it was a kind gesture, remember that the WvW Jumping Puzzles *are* designed to be a combat zone (for example, look at all the built-in traps that players can control against each other), so folks should not feel bad for making corpses in the JP, if they'd rather fight than help assist the enemy players.

It doesn't matter what they did later. Maybe if they didn't use that blueprint to help take something then we wouldn't have anything to take at some point. It's about having fun playing the game and respecting even the enemy. As I said before, we got thanked in Warhammer by the enemy by making fights tough, large and interesting.

I'm sure they did or will use them, but in turn our player got the same reward that they can and will use against the enemy so it is even. What I have found is that if you harass a red in a jumping puzzle then they will do the same to you and neither of you get anything. I normally do not attack a red out of respect in the JP area unless they are attacking someone from our server. You will have those that grief others in a JP but honestly the 2 blueprints you get can be bought for next to nothing.

My concern is GSCH being accused of "working with the enemy", especially if those two killed any SoS players together. Anyone that WvW's often, understands that this is not a ridiculous or far-fetched concern.

I've seen two sides gang up on one several times outside of a jumping puzzle where it matters more. And personally I see the JP as a fun side path that really doesn't impact WvW either way enough to make it matter if you work together to the end or not. Blueprints aren't that hard to get, even I have a bunch of them from loot and none from the JPs. So, in my humble opinion it is time to move on to a new topic instead of getting negative over a guy being nice.

Most people treat the jumping puzzles as neutral territory where people ignore that they are in a pvp instance to help someone get their achievement. Within the first couple of weeks of playing the game there was someone griefing people in the SoR jumping puzzle by knocking them off of a ledge into the water, then pointing and laughing. All I wanted was to get my jumping puzzle achievement and then leave the zone, but this jerk was griefing me. On the flipside, I went to one of the enemy zones just to get my jumping puzzle achievement during the jupming puzzle monthly thing and there was a lot of friendly waving and no attacking and even one guy who pointed the way through it for me, and I really appreciated it (I already knew the way, but the kindness was greatly appreciated). I will go right out and say it that if you are griefing people in a jumping puzzle, even a wvw one, you are exhibiting poor sportsmanship. Keep in mind that most people are just there to get their achievement and could not care a lick about wvw.

All I wanted to do was share that someone was thankful for GSCH being nice in there. Not get people all worked up, lol. I personally have played on a few different servers. I've always been in serious WvW guilds. As a player and now mesmer in WvW,(been the same on all the servers I've been on now) you go in, /wave and hope for the best. It's typically civil. No one makes a big deal about "working with enemies" For the most part, people go in to get the chest. If you're a mesmer, you offer portals up to guildies and server players. One of the big guilds I came from had JP runs where everyone went in, got blueprints and dontated them to the guild to cover costs for the Commanders. We didn't care if an enemy guild was porting up the same time as us. I simply thought it was nice that someone took the time to say Thanks :) It doesn't happen often in the world today. It is what it is :)

You folks are correct, this is about the kind "thank you" for the kind gesture. I apologize for going off-topic and shifting the focus away from the original topic of Gaiscioch's pride in its member's goodwill towards all players.

personaly i thought it was a nice thing to do , as far as griefing goes , the only time i have ever griefed anyone was when then were griefing one of my alts or guild members or killing people to low to defend themselfs . coming from oldschool EQ on Sullon zek server , we had code of not attacking players fighting npcs as if the mob got the killing blow they could lose several hours of lvl exp, plus it doesn`t take much skill to kill a player at 50 % hp and 3 mobs beating on him , and pvp without a challenge isn`t worth doing lol . coming from that midset every pvp game since 2000 I don`t attack lowbies if i can help it don`t attck players fighting a mob or that are afk and i don`t grief unless i`m returning the favor or trying to discourage griefers from griefing lowbies . ie. WOw lvl 80 players ganking lvl 30 players in a lvl 30 zone etc . I used to patrol hillsbrad and stranglethorn vale ganking the high lvl griefers and tossing buffs on lowbies hehe always great fun did the same in warhammer you could be up to lvl 30 in T 2 zone which is desgined for lvl 10-18 so lvl 26 to 30 scrubs would camp the lvl 13 quest hubs , i`d patrol every couple days killing the griefers . As far as the jumping puzzle goes if i see people there trying to complete it , I let them finish the puzzle then attack them . As far as helping or working with the enemy , I don`t see it that way i see it as not getting pve in my pvp by waiting till they finsh to send them back to spawn ! haha
