Light armor wearers - where are you getting your armor from?

Hi folks,

As time has gone on, I've seen few/no requests for tailoring work on the Marketplace other than for bags or lvl 80 gear.  I'm curious about where other light armor wearers are getting their gear from.  Drops?  Storyline quests?  Karma vendors?

Thanks for your input...

For my mesmer I have either made or bought his gear... course he is only 34 or so... not sure yet where I will turn come 80. The problem right now is it seems like often the mats are worth more than the item on the TP... Many items are sold below cost. Hopefully that eventually stops... I am always amazed when people sell for 1c above vendor price and take a loss on the item. Makes no sense to me.

When I've looked on the guild marketplace, there's not items/recipes in place to order, yet. Using the trading post in game, I find I can get stuff for just a few copper over what I can sell it for. And sometimes I can buy the piece, wear it, then salvage with decent chance of getting a rune worth more than I paid.

I have two light armor wearers and two medium armor wearers... I use the marketplace first and if there isn't anything available for my level I go to the TP in game - and also use any drops I find. It seems there are a lot of items up to 30 and then noting until high levels. I have actually placed quite a few orders for items I can't even use (below my level) just to give crafters some credits. (then I break down the items or sell to a vendor). I've spent around 10,000 credits in the last few weeks. I'm just not sure how to get the items into the marketplace for what I need - what the crafters need to be able to enter the recipes for those mid level items - weapons and armor.

Heart vender green gear from level 30+ zones. I'd rather spend karma than silver/gold hehehe

For what its worth, I have tailor at 400, so I can fill any orders you guys want to make. As soon as I sit down to figure out the add recipe thing, I'll start adding a bunch. But it's kind of intimidating lol.

I have just been wearing the drops I get. With the quality of drops and the fact that drops are any level (not just 10, 15, 20 etc) I really havent had the need to have much crafted. Im sure once I get to max level I will, but that really doesn't help our low level crafters.

My elementalist is tailor/weaponsmith. I try to make my own stuff, sometimes I use drops or the trading post.

This armor set I got all of the pieces just by exploring and getting 100% map completion.

I am leveling five characters concurrently. Between the five I Have someone working each profession. This naturally includes tailoring. Since all characters are gathering I accumulate sufficient cloth for tailoring. My tailor is able to make gear for my necromancer and elementalist and new gear is crafted for them every five levels as they progress. The only thing I but is the special mats (bloods, bones...) that I cannot gather from grinding as I progress.

Toarr et al ... crafters I think this is the problem - we can't order stuff if it isn't listed. I see a lot of people in the guild willing to make anything and everything - and saying so in guild chat - but we can't order it if it isn't listed in the marketplace - which is what gives the crafters credits - to add more things and fill more orders. I just ordered a few things for my level 22 ele - for when she hits 25 - and I know there are things there for when she is 30 - but after that the pickings are rather slim until 80. It was the same for weapons and I even ordered a couple of pieces that I don't use the stats on - but I can add my own runes which I salvage off of stuff that drops - and then I get my stats. I really don't want "might" duration ;0 But, I know it is rather intimidating to add the recipes yet that is what we need to make the orders we want. I also don't think a lot of people have credits to spend - I had a bunch that carried over from Rift. If you all don't do a lot of crafting - collecting the materials and filling the orders for the materials requests will get you credits to spend - that is how I got all of mine from Rift and although everyone can collect everything - the quantity of materials needed to fill orders typically exceeds what a crafter can collect. Anyway, I love the system and use it regularly.

I am close to 80, not sure what I'll do then, but for right now every 20 levels I buy yellow texted gear from the TP. Then I'll just play the waiting game and see what I can find. I have a lifetime sub to figure out what is best to wear and how to get it, and I'm in no rush. Besides, my leafy armor is cute right now. <3

I need to get some recipes added for sure. What is the demand like? I'm crafting to level anyway I might as well make stuff people are going to actually use.

A note to crafters & non-crafters: Currently many items are being sold below cost on the TP. If you have the mats to fulfill an order, check to see that you'd not make a profit by selling the mats and buying the item. Don't forget the 15% TP fee on all sales. NOTE: The Gaiscioch marketplace is not meant for personal profit. Please don't request mats to sell them on the TP. Do this _only_ with your personal mats.

My tailoring is only about 75, but I will add what recipes I have. Also, when ordering armor, if the stat I wanted wasn't listed, I would put a note on it asking if they could make me that item an level with a certain stat. Every crafters who made me stuff was willing to substitute as long as they were getting the same credit.

I forgot who in the family crafted my mesmer set, but someone offered me the full feathered set (think thats right, has the dragonfly wings on it). I forgot who, but they asked me if I was running condition damage build after I replied to a question in guild chat, then asked if I needed the armor. Was very kind of them to hook me up with a full set. I've kept that look since I got the set, as its pretty 'hot' looking on a female toon.

I'd love to find the 'Tribal' set. Has anyone seen this in-game? According to Google, no one's seen it since beta.
