Hi guys - Mira here. My son and I plan on purchasing GW2 this weekend after he takes his ACT. I know you guys are on the Sanctum Rall server.
Is there a certain faction we should join on our characters to be able to join the guild? Is the guild called Gaiscioch as always?

Yes, Sanctum of Rall. Be careful when you're first selecting your server, because you can only create characters on one. You *can* transfer, but it's best to start in the right place.
There's no factions.
To join, you'll do it first thru this website, and then we'll work out the in-game sorting.
Under "Membership" on the website's home page, there's a "Join GW2" option.
Guild Wars 2 Account Setup Progress:
To receive an invite to the Gaiscioch in Guild Wars 2 you must complete the steps below.
Step 1: Set ArenaNet ID <---------- you need to own GW2 to do step 1
Step 2: Update Playstyle
Step 3: Request Invite
Step 4: Add Your Characters
You and your son will want separate gaiscioch.com accounts.

One of the guilds is Gaiscioch. I'm not sure what the second "newbie" guild is called, but there are several that all have Gaiscioch in the name somewhere.
