Stress Test 8/21

From Noon PST to 4pm PST. Get out there and test all your final specs, this is likely to be the last one. Also there's rumor the build might be new and some abilities changed, so check them out. Last time they nerfed/tweaked a lot of things.

I get to play around with a Norn Elementalist I am going to run with my gf now. See if I can get the build all figured out. How many people gonna be able to make it?

I'll be at work. But I'm not too sad... Guild Wars 2 is barely 5 days away. I can wait a bit longer. ;)

Sadly my beta presence is on anther server until I switch over to Sanctum at launch, but I might try and pop into vent for a little bit before school lets out just to hear what the guild babble sounds like. ;-P

Had an update this morning. Didn't see how big it was since I am sending this from my phone as I walk out the door for work, just opened the launcher and saw it patch.

I think today I am gonna get my starting Norn figured out. I was thinking Elementalist but part of me wants to try Guardian. After that I just wanna wander WvW and kill me some stuff. Good times.

I'm with Drigr, glaring at work. Good thing launch isn't too far away.

I've glared at every stress test since BWE3. Even the one that was on a weekend, managed to happen on the one day in like THREE YEARS that my parents told everyone "Don't make plans, we are going out as a family" a month in advance

I also might test out vent for this. And will work on my key bindings and turning with my mouse. Spinning right round till I'm dizzy - that's the plan.* *Plan subject to change especially if I see something shiny.

FYI, GW2 is still having issues with their attempt to update accounts at GW2 game login. There are many of us that had to change our account login/emails from our original Guild Wars "NCSOFT" logins and that is what is not working. At this writing some got emails to verify the change, some of us didn't. Many still cannot log in and it is on the GW2 side, not anything that we did wrong. Just FYI. I am frustrated but just keep checking my email linked to my GW2 account for the validation email so maybe I will be in before 4pm PST and maybe I won't. heehee =)

For those that are not able to participate in today's stress test you might want to try to log in to your account on the Guild Wars 2 site or make sure you check your email account associated with your GW2 account for any hint of whether you have to do an email verification. Half way through this stress test and I have not received an email to validate their required change so neither my new login nor the old one show as being valid/existing. This is a known issue they are having right now with this whole account verificiation at login email change thing. Just giving update/heads up. Hopefully this will all get straightened out well before Friday. =)

Stress test was extended one hour (to 5pm pst). Which means drigr will get to play, maybe...

Good luck with that. I still have yet to successfully get everything past "validation." At this writing I now can't log in to Guild Wars 2 game, website, now NCSoft master account and my plain Guild Wars account because of the required "you have to provide a new email" thing. lol I am suspecting that I am caught between two worlds on the whole login issue. My GW2 account was linked to my GW account which had the whole "@ncsoft" as a login name. I had to change that on the GW2 login to a "valid" email for this date's test (it worked fine on all other tests/betas). Now, it seems, that the old "@ncsoft" login no longer exists but the new login doesn't exist so I can't log into the either games or any of the website. I am gleaning from other posters on the game's facebook page that various versions of this validation have tons of folks messed up. Some look like they got emails to "validate" their changes but still can't get in the actual game with the new, valid information or the old. Just posting this so folks with similar problems in the family know this is GW2's issue on their end of things. Not complaining since this is what "tests" are all about. heehee

I got in for a little while and then work hunted me down. Glad that happended today, and not Saturday! @Kirleen, I was able to log in with my @ncsoft address... I just ignored that validation stuff and pressed the big red Play button.

Wish I had, what I am gleaning is that is the issue. This is the first time they have had the GW2 login actually linked to NCSoft severs for verification and that is where the issue is. It is still not fixed. I won't mind long as I can get a valid account login working before the game goes live. =) Wow, folks are raging on the facebook page though! lol

Heard from GW2 support and thought I would pass it on. They are aware of certain login issues during this stress test. Below is a paste of the support reply I got. If you have any of the listed issues then they are, indeed, working on them at this time: Quoted from Support Email: Hello, We are currently experiencing a couple of issue with today's stress test. If you are experiencing one of the following errors, please be assured that we are working very hard to resolve them and we hope to have them fixed in a timely manner. If your issue is not listed below, please reply to this email with a details description of your issue and we will be happy to assist you further. 1. You are unable to log into the server and getting an error that states, "The server was unable to authenticate your gameplay privileges." 2. You are not receiving the confirmation email after changing your email address as prompted by the auth system, and therefore cannot login. 3. After changing your email or attempting to change your email, it says that it no longer recognizes it, is in use or invalid. 4. The link provided in the confirmation email doesn't work. 5. Your password no longer works after trying to change or confirm your email. Hopefully that clears up the issues we are having, but should anything else pop up; please don't hesitate to hit us up. Thanks so much for your time and you have a great day! End of Quote Email

The link in the e-mail didn't work for me the first couple of times - but I am an obstinate old biddy - and just kept clicking on it after backing out - and it worked the third time. I didn't suffer any of the other problems. so I was unaware of them.

That is so good Morigana. This is a mess waiting to see what will get fixed when. I got caught in "no man's land" as it were. I never got a validation email but it made it far enough in the change that I could no longer use my "old" sign in and no way to validate my "new" one so no way to sign in to anything. Fortunately they let you make a separate support account having nothing to do with your actual game log in or I wouldn't be able to have done a support ticket on it. I still can't wait for game start up on the three day "advance" start. Going to have a blast! I have every confidence this will all get straightened out. Might even get another stress test out of it so they can test their fix to all this account login stuff when they get it done. Hope so. =)
