1. Push B on your keyboard, which pulls up the WvW scoreboard.
2. Choose which zone you want to go to.
3. Click on that rectangle.
4. Presto.

5. Duck Incoming Projectiles. Good idea putting this up, seemed to be one of the most common questions asked in general!
I had one hell of a time figuring out how to get into WvW.

Always carry some supply. Can be found in any of the buildings you can take. It is what you use to make the battering rams and such.
Thanks and somewhere in the WvWvW/sPvP section of the forums they have posted the schedule and the zone.
The supply tip is great. You should always have supply when in WvW. You can't pick it up and drop it at a castle, so don't even try it. You keep it in your inventory until someone is building a piece of seige equipment. You can click on a gate/wall to use it to repair the structure. Again, you CAN'T carry it to a supply point in a castle you want to supply and drop it off.
Also about supply: if the WvW match-up just finished all of the supply camps will be neutral when the new WvW match-up starts. None of your castles will have supply. It's a good idea to take supply camps right off the bat. If you're coming to the end of a WvW match, you will get a queue on your screen that lets you know that the servers will reset in 5 minutes. When you see that, if you don't have supply, rush to the nearest supply camp and get some. Supply WILL carry over to the next match-up.
If you want to take a supply camp, it takes about three people to do it. There are 4 level 80 mobs to kill in order to take the supply camp. I'm not going to say you can't do it with two people, but it would be very difficult.
One other beginner WvW tip: you can get to WvW by running through Lion's Arch and using an Asura portal. You can get there from the competitive PVP lobby. The easiest way is to push B on your keyboard and choose your zone. If you do that, when you leave WvW you will return to the same place you entered from.

RedHugh, I never could find a way to return to exactly where I left from. The portals out left me in Lion's Arch. The only way I could return to adventuring in the same spot was to log to Character Select and re-enter the game. I did use the B option to enter the borderlands as well, just never could figure out how to outright leave short of disconnecting. How were you able to leave the WvW maps and return to where you left?

Maybe we need to set up a few maps where the portals and such are? I know I got lost my first time.
Was just thinking and it occurs to me speed buffs are huge. The map is huge and running with people with speed aoe's can make a huge difference in getting to a battle in time or making a good tactical retreat.
I equip my warhorn as a ranger to speed buff across the map. Before I get to combat I switch to my combat weapons.
Also kind of cool: if you're escorting a supply Dolyak, you can give your Dolyak swiftness and might with your warhorn to get them to travel faster. It really helps when trying to bring supply back to your keep.

That is very cool with the Dolyak. Great one!
another piece of advice for getting into eternal battlegrounds from the boarderlands: most times Redhugh and i jump into sanctum of rall boarderlands first, to secure all points quickly. Once finished we try to enter Eternal battlegrounds. A few times ive ran into a problem when hitting "B" and trying to navigate... problem being that there is a point tally countdown and wont allow me to jump in. this can be bypassed by simply opening your map, scrolling it all the way out, then clicking the waypoint to the battlegrounds. It will immediatly que you, or let you in.
This last stress test I kept having problems in the loading screen to WvW: nothing major, just a minor delay. That would make me mad though. I would get to the portal first and click on it first. You would pull up your map and click on the waypoint in the zone you wanted to go to. Then I would sit in the loading screen asking how you got in so fast. I'm guessing they've probably got the loading screen issue solved as well, but that trick is a good one if they don't. Aside from that, the only tip I can give you is to watch out for Northern Shiverteets.
