I've been piddling with crafting skills in my spare time and am currently 300-ish in cooking. Once I hit 400 I intend to always carry along a couple trays of omnomberry bars for dungeon runs, as the improved magic find and extra gold from kills is always welcome. Aside from that, the feasts that offer +100 power (or +200 after a kill), +might and/or extra crit damange look appealing as well.
where do you find the feast recipes?
You have to have a recipe for them, meaning that you can't discover them like normal food items. Further, the recipes are special in that they come from the Mystic Forge.
Basically, you take some Elonian Wine, Crystals, Mystic Coins and a certain number of whatever food item you want to get the tray/feat/pot recipe for, throw those into the forge, and out should pop a recipe for creating the bulk version of that food item. Once you've learned the recipe you can craft it just like any other foodstuff.
Here's a link to the the Wiki that illustrates it a little better:

They cost a lot, but are pretty cool. Gibsauce makes trays of omnomberry bars, so ask him if you need help with how to get the recipe.
Yeah I sort of wanted to coordinate and not overlap recipes too much so it would be good to know what recipes people already have and which ones might still be useful for like WvW, etc.
I have this weird feeling that making feasts is a really fast way to level up your cooking
Not particularly. You'd do most of them at 400. It seems too expensive to do the lesser ones.
I have Feast of Rosemary Roasted Meat, which I try to bring to WvWvW.
Do you guys think we should have a family fundraising event to get someone with the recipe for tray of Cherry Tarts?
I think cherry tarts are really nice, it gives 18% magic find, 40 power and only requires lv35, which is a pretty good level cap for most zerg gatherings
the one below would be Strawberry tarts, which gives 10% magic find at lv20 requirement
Or something in the middle like Orange Coconut Bar, which is 22 mf, 20 gold find, capped at lv50
Survival wise, I find grape pies to work the best, this is a lv40 food that not only lasts over a hour, but gives +40 vitality and health regeneration every second! (Pretty useful!)

I can make feast of rare veggie pizzas.
They give:
+40% condition duration
+70 condition damage
+10 experience from kills
