Crafting bonus sets and weapons?

I am going to state my understanding of bonus crafting tables - just to make sure:

I know that to be able to make a set of armor at the special crafting tables for the bonuses; you must have a certain amount of traits researched on at least 3 items.  Some tables off an additional bonus if all 5 items have the required number of researched traits.  With each map, the number of researched traits on the 3 or 5 items required increases.  The bonuses realized are the same regardless of the items crafted.  There is no advantage to crafting the set with chest, pants and head vs belt, gloves and shoulders.  Crafting the 3 or 5 items gives your character a "passive" trait when all 3 or 5 are worn.

Here is my question:

How are weapons factored into the bonus sets?  I can only use one bow at a time.  LOL Maybe they aren't?  If not, is the woodworker's table there just for convenience.

Weapons also count as part of the set.  If you use sword/shield - that would be 2 pieces of the set.  However if you swap to say a 2h sword for your send action bar - that would be 1 piece of the set so you would lose one piece and have to plan on making up for that in your armor pieces.  If you only use 2h/staff/bow you wouldn't notice any set changes.  If you use 2 swords or daggers or something then that would be 2 pieces of the set.

When I'm putting together my armor pieces using the tables, I take into account that I'm using the staffs and make sure I make the staves at the same table so they have the same bonus, thus not losing a bonus on weapon swapping.

I want to toss in here that the Head, Chest and Leg slots get the full glyph/enchantment bonuses. Those are the pieces I used the "infused" trait on.  The smaller pieces don't get the full glyph/enchantment bonuses, and personally I used the "mundus stone" trait on those.

I hope I answered clearly enough.  :)

I don't know why I struggle with understanding the bonus crafting stuff!  So, if I understand this right, although my bow may be crafted at another table than the armor pieces - I could craft 2 pieces of armor on the blacksmith table and 1 bow at the woodworking table and my requirement for 3 pieces with "x" # traits researched would be satisfied?

Thanks!

Yes, if the set bonus requires 3 traits researched per piece used, then you could use 2 pieces from the blacksmith table and 1 from the woodworking table to achieve your 3 piece bonus.  There are higher end tables with 3 and 5 piece set bonuses, so using a weapon for those slots works as well.

*If you do that - be sure to take into account your weapon swaps!  If you don't have your alternate weapon made to match you will lose the set bonus on swap.
