Keep Your Seat Back In The Upright Position -- It's Guild Missions!

By: Smitty

Thursday, May the First brought us an evening of madcap hijinks, megaserver taxi services and bad pilot humor during the course of Guild missions for Gaiscioch!

Fog was our dauntless leader as he gathered us up in WvW before heading out to kill some baddies. As we were prepping for our evening of fun, we were all in a giggly mood as we noticed many of our commanders speaking very much like airline hostesses and pilots. Needless to say, we gamers are a funny lot, and we were riffing on this fact all night. Once we had our ducks in a row and all players were repping, we took off (airplane humor) and faced our first challenge for the evening -- The MegaServer! (Cue ominous music) Yes, taxi services were called for all around, all night. (Some even wondering what a taxi service was, or why they needed it).

Soon we found ourselves 50 strong face to face with our Guild Bounty for the evening -- Diplomat Tarban. Despite coming around the corner and seeing a hoard of cutthroat murderers waiting to land on him (airplane humor, Ha!), he dauntlessly carried on his miserable route until all were present and accounted for. At which point he was lit off, and we all delighted in taking one or two smacks at him before he succumbed to us wondering how a crazy bunch of kids could have defeated him so easily. One might say we were at our cruising altitude at that point.

Next on the docket for the evening was the Guild Puzzle - Langmar Estates! We touched down (airplane humor! HA HA!) and got to work inside the great estates. But despite our best efforts, stragglers were still succumbing to the Megaservers, causing several delays in pulling stragglers into "the next room" before the door closes. C'est la vie! We next learned that Asurans are MUCH to light for stone switches, and that the switches themselves are trickly little blighters to get triggered at the same time despite Fog's best counting! (Is it 1, 2, 3, THEN go or is it 1, 2, Go on 3?). Once the switches were foiled, it was all smooth flying at that point (airplane hu... Oh you get it...) and the Estates were left in the dust as we moved on to everyone's favorite game...

Keep Fog away from the Karka -- Southsun Crab Toss! Officially the worst game of hot potato ever, the crab toss found Fog running clockwise and counter clockwise for 5 minutes while he gleefully watched comrades get bowled over by rolling veteran and champion Karkas! Down tags filled the screen as everyone gleefully raised everyone else because "Hey, reviving allies is on the daily! C'mon, take one for the team!" We defeated the timer, the Karkas snapped their fingers in anger, went "Awww, man!" and disappeared back in to the sand.

Personal note... Gather all the waypoints on Southsun... That Island Sucks!

Finally, we began our descent with a guild rush: Crab Scuttle. One of the more difficult rushes available, this one lived up to its reputation. With a number of the guildies not familiar with the path or how the traps worked, getting through the event was difficult. Luckily we had plenty of mesmers on hand to drop portals from a difficult point to the finish line. Rounding out the evening with a successful approach, touchdown, and gleeful cheer from the passengers!

All in all, it was a rousingly fun evening of earning guild commendations, and continual feeling out of the Megaservers. Hope to see everyone next week!

This has been your Captain, Smitty! Thank you for flying Gaiscioch Air!
