I plan on spending a lot of time crafting in this game and a lot of time gathering. I will be focusing on weapon smithing but will advance every skill on my crafting toon to max. Once we get up and running just wondering what toons are crafting what so that we can share mats we not using but have gathered. This would be a good place to just post toon name and skills to compile a list.
This might work what is your build? You might find it useful though to team up with at least one other weapon smith if you deconstruct eachothers weapons you will double your
skill points as you do it.
that and having to research difirent weapon stats will make it easier, if you try and research the full list by yourself you will find it very long.. try and find a crafting buddy and split the list into parts
I will be focusing on woodworking
I will be focusing on clothing and woodworking, while leveling provisioning as I level. I will be stockpiling materials for alchemy and plan on leveling that up around character level 20. Once alchemy is maxed I will probably start on enchanting.
That is how I did it on PTS and it seemed to work out very well for me with the exception of waiting to long to start on provisioning.
MonaM on PTS will be Abra_Cadabra on live. :)
My tentative plan is to have each character specialize on one type of crafting. All characters will collect mats while running around. We'll see how this works.
I'll do Weaponsmithing with you. I did it in GW2 and i'll be playing a DK. I'll probably do Armorsmithing on the off side.
We will have base mats available to order on the marketplace at first here on the website, so don't forget to use it if you need something. The recipes and other things will come as people enter them after launch. I plan to do clothing, woodworking and maybe weaponsmith. I will be playing a nightblade:)

My first character will be my master crafter - Radcraft. I'll level him as a combat character passively crafting as I level just to make my own gear, and when I get to VR1 and snag about 150 skill points, I'll respec him out of most of his combat skills and ensure he has enough skill points to master all areas of all 6 crafting disciplines.
I'm most likely going to be hard-core focused on the crafting for at least the first two weeks. I'm not interested in the zerg that will take place come early release and then 5 days later, the normal release zerg will commence. Only after that, will I really focus on questing/leveling, etc.
I definitely like the idea of several alts with hirelings.
It would be nice to know in advance roughly how many skill points you can obtain in certain areas, to prevent accidentally gimping your character, but I don't see how that can be easily accomplished without spoiling things as well.
For example, if you focus on crafting and don't skill up your cc or what have you, at what point does that come back and bite you really hard? If someone would compile a stats chart for each area, that would be really cool. In fact, I think I'll post that as a request. :)
I'm not sure what constitutes a "dedicated" crafter, but I love crafting in ESO. I tend to be poor, because I give all my unused mats away and was wondering if we could set up some kind of exchange.
For example, I have no plans on pursuing blacksmithing and don't want to waste inventory space on bits of ore and ingots. I will, however, be focusing on Alchemy and Enchanting because I find them fascinating.
I would like to be able to post that I have metals to give away and ask who wants them. Do we have something in place for this?
If so, forgive me for asking again.
There will be orders for mats from crafters on the website here. You can fill those orders and get credits for ordering equipment you want from the guild crafters.

I am new to the world of MMORPG's (I had to Google it to get the abbreviation right), but I am a little obsessive about crafting.
The plan is to concentrate on Alchemy and Enchanting.
I look forward to seeing you all in game. Time to see if this old dog can still learn some new tricks...
My plan (for my main character) is Clothing (Medium) and Enchanting.
As she isn't online at the moment, I will also answer for Karen (my sister, @Saharine in-game) who is planning Provisioning and Alchemy.
After reading about strategies for efficiently leveling BS/WW/CW and possibly others (here and here), due to the severe reduction in Inspiration Points (IP) that you get from deconstructing items you made, the best way to do maximize your IP is by partnering with someone who will be leveling the same profession as you and send each other the itmes you make.
I'm open to any other ideas of how to do this but I would think a dedicated thread would be one approach.
Any other ideas?
I hope to have one character focused on woodworking and clothing, and another focused on blacksmithing and provisioning.
I am going to run Blacksmithing and Provisioning on my Templar though I am thinking of Alchemy as well I doubt I will have the points to master it for a while.
If anyone needs a clothing crafting buddy please let me know.
I am going to be a Cook!! I already started this weekend and will have more than enough to pass around.
I will be crafting as well, focusing on enchanting and black smithing. Should I just dump the ingredients I don't need into the guild bank? For instance, I won't be using provisioning mats and I'd rather one of ya'll get them than me sell them.

Those are going pretty slow for me.
I am working on smithing, woodworking and clothing but I have been spending most of my time farming those resources on Bleakrock. I have a ton of runes saved up but I haven't done much with them yet.
My current plans involve using four characters.
Naay'Smythe is an Imperial that will be, surprise a blacksmith, clothier and woodworker. Thus keeping all the trait and race mats on one toon and only needing motif books for racial styles on one toon. Many skill points used here for three crafts, but hey, that's his job. Old and overweight he only really needs to run between work stations anyway.
Naay'Kuc is my provisioner. With one craft only he can still have plenty of points for other uses. All provisioning recipes and mats go to him.
Naay'Qemyzt is my alchemist. Again one craft only, all alchemy mats to her.
Naay'Chantes is my enchantress. All enchanting stuff in her bags.
This leaves my bank for exchanging between toons and storing everything else that will accumulate. (Also, leaving four more character slots for mules as needed and for "pure" non-crafting toons.)
Here's to hoping this plan works out. :D
