Over the past couple of years I have been hard at work trying to rebuild the Marketplace system into a new Trading Post that can work both in Buy and Donate mode for any game we play now or into the future. The challenge was intense trying to find a pricing model that players could just enter in simple data like the item level, color, and type and have the price automatically be set based on how close to the max level and quality the item is.
After many many many revisions and updates to the algorithms, I have settled on one that seems mostly fair and still accomplishes to goal behind it in the first place. To measure initiative and willingness to give even if the reward isn't what it's worth. Generosity and Initiative are two key traits I look for in people and want to reward. This is why for over 20 years we have had some form of marketplace or another to help identify the people who display natural initiative and generosity.
