If you like to zip from mob-to-mob and bash them in the face with a big hammer, this build is for you.  No pet to manage, super simple rotation, good DPS, good mobility and excellent AUTOMATIC self healing.  This is fun leveling or solo build for cleric in Starfall Prophecies zones.

At 65, you can set up the build and the masteries.  Then just add the next legendary skill each time you level up.

Caution!  Like all melee builds, Shaman is gear dependent.  I strongly recommend running through the SFP story in Scattheran Forest ASAP for a starter set of gear with SFP stats.

Build

https://rift.magelo.com/en/soultree#n8s/lkGBlhlkll4/D8d|XYXw

NOTE!  This is identical to the "shaman" preset, except for the masteries.

Masteries

Level 61 - Soul Collector
Level 62 - Blessing of Penitence
Level 63 - Swift Judgment
Level 64 - Diversify
Level 65 - Punishing Strike

Legendary Skills

Level 66 - Faerie Healer (Druid).  Automatic self heal.  The legendary version of the skill means you no longer summon the faerie at all.  Instead, you are healed -- a LOT -- passively as you fight.
Level 67 - Furious Assault.  Buffs Glacial Stike, AoE damage, movement spped and air/water damage.  Makes all the things better.
Level 68 - Bolt of Judgement (Inquisitor).  Automatic bonus damage.   Instead of casting the skill, Bolt of Judgement fires off automatically -- and quite frequently -- as you fight.  It's a nice damange boost.
Level 69 - Icy Blow.  Nice damange buff, especially for longer fights.
Level 70 - Deep Freeze.  Nice damage buff, especially for tightly packed AoE fights.

Buffs

Furious Assault
Armor of Devotion
Glory of the Chosen
Vengeance of the Winter Storm
Heart of the Frozen Sea

Rotation

Shaman gets the best DPS by alternating magic and physical attacks.  A lot of my fights consists of 2 3 2 3 2 3 etc., since those are my keys with the macros for magic and physical attacks.  It's quite easy -- see the Macros section below for the actual macros.

  • To start the fight, tap the start macro 3 times from a distance.  This buffs you and stuns your target (and other mobs standing next to it).
  • Use the teleport macro to zoom to your target.  Tap teleport a second time for some extra single target damage, if desired.
  • Alternate between the magic and physical macros until your target is dead.

Pretty simple!

Macros

start

#show Deep Freeze

suppressmacrofailures

cast Shield of Oak

cast Rage of the North

cast Deep Freeze

teleport

#show Ride the Lightning

suppressmacrofailures

cast Ride the Lightning

cast Lightning Hammer

magic

#show Frozen Wrath

suppressmacrofailures

cast Frozen Wrath

cast Glacial Strike

cast Jolt

cast Icy Blow

cast Ekkehard's Grasp

physical

#show Massive Blow

suppressmacrofailures

cast Massive Blow

cast Rush of Strength

cast Punishing Strike

cast Crushing Blow

cast Ekkehard's Grasp

Additional Skills

There are a few other skills I keep on my bar for occasional use:

  • Vex.  Strong, instant DoT from Inquistor.  It's good for pulling, or a bit more damage.
  • Bitter Wind.  Interrupt
  • Windwalk.  Dodge and +50% runspeed for 15s.  It's a nice get away skill, although I often use it to run to the next harvesting node ;)

AoE

Shaman isn't a super strong AoE class, but it's decent.  In AoE situations use the Vengeance of the Primal North buff, and alternate between the Shaman skills Avalanche (magic) and Strike of the Maelstrom (phys).

Raid Build

This solo/leveling build isn't the best possible DPS for Shaman, which can be a top-tier DPS build for raid content.  A good place to start learning more about raiding with Shaman is http://forums.riftgame.com/game-discussions/rift-guides-strategies/class-guides/cleric-guides/489966-legendary-quick-shaman-guide.html.

This looks like just what I've been looking for, thanks for the guide! I'm going to try this one out.

Update: okay, this build is excellent - the dps increase is amazing, especially compared to the druid build I was running. Ran through a chronicle with this build and decimated a lot of stuff that I was taking forever to kill with my old build.

I've been using a very similar build to this, it's a beast. You can actually get it all down to 1 macro if you want to be really lazy :). At lvl 67 I could solo the lvl 70 rare Elites using this build. Use it while you can, I'm sure that it's lining up for a meeting with the nerf hammer :)
