Novice Dungeon Runs
The Ruined City of Arah (Story)
Once called the City of the Gods, the fair capital of Orr now hosts the Risen hoard and their leader, the dreaded elder dragon Zhaitan. The reformed members of Destiny's Edge have joined with the airships of the Pact in an Assault on the dragon's hideout and have requested your help to destroy the evil once and for all from the face of Tyria.
We'll be meeting up for this outside the dungeon in Cursed Shore, so make sure you have the waypoint before the event. We'll be organizing in Raidcall 1101 in the GW2: PVE lobby for organization at 2:45PM with plans to leave out around 3PM.
Since we usually have more than one group, priority for Group 1 will be given to those members that sign up for the event through the Event Calendar (Just click the event in the Event calendar and select "Request to Join"). This will help to make sure that we get an accurate headcount beforehand amd make sure that the event starts in a timely fashion.
Also, this dungeon ties in with the end of your Personal Story quests, so while its not required, it's highly recommended you finish those quests before going on this dungeon (as the follow up quest is only available to those who have finished both Arah and their story quests).
Event Update
Since this is the last dungeon for this run, Novice Dungeon Runs will be taking a hiatus next week (Feb. 3). From there, we've got a few options open for new activities, so I'd like to throw a few of those ideas out and see if any of these sound better than others.
- Restart the Novice Dungeon Runs schedule, starting with Ascalonion Catacombs. Keep the event focused primarily on Story modes and have a new dungeon every week.
- Change the event to Advanced Dungeon Runs, switching the focus to Exploreable paths only. Group consensus at event start will determine which dungeon/paths to focus on, but still making sure someone can lead people through the dungeon (since I would like the event to still be approachable)
- Change the event to focus on low-level walkthroughs of Fractals of the Mist. This would be focusing on leading people through their first few runs of Fractal dungeons
- Something else entirely I haven't thought of yet!
If any of these options sounds like something you'd be interested in, or you have a better idea for events you'd like to see based around dungeons/endgame PvE content, please post a reply and let me know. I'll be making the announcement on Feb 3 for the upcoming schedule, right before the Great Tyrian Adventure. How convenient! (You know you want to go sign up for it here: http://www.sanctumofrall.com/events/1349/ )
