This is one of my favorites builds that I played during the beta. It is based on the Thane from DAoC. It combines sorcerer storm calling with heavy armor and a very large hammer. :)
This is mainly an RP build, but can be successful in PVE or AVA in the right hands.

Race: Nord - There are probably better races stat-wise for this type of build, but Thanes were from Midgard, a region populated by Vikings. Nord fits best.
Class: Sorceror - the only class that has lightning spells, so this is a must.
Weapons: 2H Hammer – The Thane always uses a hammer.
Weapon Enchants: Shock damage – More lightning is always a good thing, right?
Armor: 7 Heavy, or 5 Heavy/2 Medium – this build will not use a shield, so extra defense is needed. Use some medium pieces if you need extra weapon crit and stamina regen. This will require extra skill points.
Attributes: 29 Health, 10 Magicka, 10 Stamina
The Thane will use both stamina and magicka for skills. The 10 points into each will be taken in early levels to help with longevity. After that, all points go into health.
Mundus Stone: The Thief
Almost any stone would work for this build. The Thief increases critical chance, which this build sorely lacks due to heavy armor use.
Bar 1 – 2H Skills
Slot 1-1: Wrecking Blow – Knocks the target back, deals heavy damage and buffs the power of the next attack. Has a 1 second cast time, which can be interrupted, so use with care.
Slot 1-2: Critical Rush – Charge the target and deal critical damage. With the passive ability Forceful, this ability will critically hit 3 targets, gaining extra healing from the Critical Surge ability.
Slot 1-3: Executioner – Deals bonus damage if the target is low health. Passively buffs damage to low health targets from all abilities.
Slot 1-4: Forward Momentum – Raises weapon damage and breaks snares
Slot 1-5: Critical Surge – Storm calling skill, raises weapon damage. Critical hits heal the caster while this buff is active
Slot 1-U: Summon Charged Atronach – your big lightning-slinging friend. He will stun and damage targets and take some hits for you.
Bar 2 – Lightning Skills
Slot 2-1: Carve – Weapon skill, hits all targets in front of you and generates extra Ultimate for each target hit.
Slot 2-2: Mage’s Wrath – Deals shock damage, explodes if the target’s health drops below 20% and does AOE damage.
Slot 2-3: Lightning Flood – does shock damage over time to an area. Allies can activate synergy to deal high shock damage instantly to enemies in the area.
Slot 2-4: Thundering Presence – buffs armor and spell resistance and deals shock damage to surrounding enemies. Generates Ultimate for each enemy hit.
Slot 2-5: Ball of Lightning – teleport forward and disorient enemies in the path. Absorb projectiles for 5 seconds.
Slot 2-U: Energy Overload – Changes your light and heavy attacks to deal shock damage, drain ultimate and generate magicka
Passive Skills:
Heavy Armor - All Passives
Two-Handed Weapons - All Passives
Storm Calling – All Passives
Daedric Summoning – Power Stone only
Dark Magic – Unholy Knowledge only
Racial (Nord) - All Passives
Total skill points: 66
Leveling -Leveling will look quite a bit different, as you will want to level both heavy and medium armor, and all 3 spell lines. I recommend having at least one spell from each spell line (Storm Calling, Daedric Summoning and Dark Magic) on your bar at all times, and wear a mix of medium and heavy armor.
