Hi all,

I hope to become familiar with AvA and maybe have some fun learning.

I have played Guild Wars 2 WvW since launch and understand the pitfalls of open-class PvP while under level.

For solo leveling I am following Deltias Gaming "Omega Templar" DPS build for PvE.  I know that in AvA I won't be able to DPS anyone or anything down.

gear: 5 light, 2 heavy, all max magicka glyphs

sword-sword both bars

Prior to running with groups in AvA, should I:

(1) I don't mind dying, but, should I just level up more prior to trying?

(2) not worry about changing gear or skills

(3) make helpful changes.  If so, what changes should I make? I am hoping not to respec because of the cost, but I am able to craft anything I need for my level or change some skills, etc.

Thank you!

1.  You can contribute at any level, with the battle level system.  You might be surprised at how effective you are.  That said, there are still some extremely overpowered defense abilities and setups out there.  (Some people can deal with groups of 10 players solo, so be prepared for the unbalance!)

2.  You can play around with skills as you wish, but anything will work at least to some extent.

3.  Look at set armors, but honestly you need to do PvP to get most of what is really great in PvP.  So just start playing, work on stuff as you go, and talk with those who AvA more.

I am new to AvA also, and still working things out myself. Occasionally, I will try to find groups in the evenings or go to GSCH events when I can.

I have been running around most mornings (US MST) trying to get all POI's, dolmens, skyshards, delve's etc., so you are welcome to join me. It's more quiet then, and I can get the PVE parts out of the way.

I have finished 2 quest hub locations as well, with the help of Pyr0. (I swear he has the quests memorized or something...)

If anyone wants to join us, just give a holler.
