Veteran Fungal Grotto Perplexity

I'm looking for some guidance, direction and maybe a little affirmation with regards to Fungal Grotto Veteran edition.  Our little four man keeps hitting a wall with this particular dungeon.  We've done Blessed Crucible and Spindlecluth but the mechanics in VFG are throwing us off.  Now we've read all the guides/walkthrus and watched the videos but things aren't matching up.

First of all Gayme, the second boss seems to us really buggy.  There has been numerous times where all three attacks go off at once, laser beam, shadow chains and shades.  If we manage to survive that she has a tendency to just go afk for a minute and then come back.  Thinking it has to be a coding issue and timing or something.  Anyone else ever have issues with her?

Secondly we are just plain stuck on Spawn of Mehpala.  We maybe do 10% dmg and she's pulling people from off the bridge area into the portal.  After that it's usually a quick wipe.  There doesn't seem to be any "safe" spot to deal with her contrary to the videos we've watched.  Anyone have suggestions on how to beat her?  Is it basically a three man fight?

Lastly is there any tips for the dark husk or last boss that we can be prepared for?

For the 2nd boss just aoe the chains. Had that bug you mentioned happen once on a run, happened after a wipe and the boss somehow de-synched. I don't think you even have to break all the chains now, just 2 maybe? 

You can still bug Spawn of Mehpala on the bridge, just be tucked against the edge of the bridge so her small KB doesn't eventually push you into the water. The whole group should stack there, tank too, if you are doing the exploit method. It's actually a fun fight to do right if everyone is good at DDR it should be ok. 

last boss, just be sure to get into the well's cover when she goes lazer beam, and don't linger there or she will poop in your shelter. 

Just completed Vet FG again, and even completed the hard mode for the achievement. As said, just gotta kill the adds during the chains, and I don't see why its necessary to bug Spawn of Mephala. If you get stuck in the cave, just DPS the spiders quick and you get right back out. The spiders are very easy and don't do much damage at all. For the last boss, if you want the hard mode you cannot use the protective dome over the well, but if you don't care about that its pretty simple, just don't stand in the black.

Just wanted to be clear that I'm not looking to exploit the Spawn. Just trying to figure out the mechanics.   I definitely think Gayme bugged on us though. Seen a couple posts on the official forums having same issues as I've described. 

Appreciate the tips though Ralcore. Will definitely put those into practice. Regarding Spawn, how often does someone end up in the portal?  Seemed like we always had one ine there for the whole fight. How do you avoid going in the portal?

As far as I know it cannot be avoided, will happen the whole fight as you saw. Just be prepared to kill those spiders and get back to the group. The Boss can be kited pretty easily (which is what I was doing every time the tank got sucked into the cave), just keep your eye out for that laser-lightning nonsense and be ready to dodge if necessary.

Boss after her is pretty basic and easy, just be sure to kill all the shadow ninja guys around the sides of the room before you engage.

For the last boss, everyone should be grouped up and pretty well stacked in some far corner of the room. She will toss some slow-growing black circles on the floor at this point, and the group should relocate to avoid them, usually to another far corner. At times she will do a laser move too, to all party members for massive damage. I do not know how to avoid this, so I just healed through it. And that's really the whole fight, if you do it this way there's no need to use the protective dome, so its an easy achievement.
